I'll be in WDW in 2 weeks for 5 nights. Somewhat of a last minute trip. Am taking 13y/o nephew. Both of us are good eaters, but would probably prefer apps instead of desserts (although we like desserts, too).

I booked the basic dining plan (1 TS/1CS/1SN), but am having second thoughts. I keep wavering on whether to keep it or not. I found a spreadsheet on these boards that allows you to do a comparison to see if its worth it or not. When I inputted what we would likely order on the plan, it came out that I would probably save about $50 using the DDP.

Because it's so close to our arrival, some of the restaurants I would have gone to have no ADR's available. This trip is going to (hopefully) be laod back and relaxing. Although we will probably hit the parks every day, we'll also take time for relax at the resort, go to the pool, etc. So I'm worried that we may not want to rush off to get to a TS meal.

This is where I currently have ADR's/plans to eat:
ESPN (no ADR,but will use DDP. Arriving at BWV in the evening, so this will be convenient)
Kona Cafe (for breakfast - would not use DDP credit)
Rainforest Cafe (at AK - have GC)
Trail's End for dinner, using DDP (thought of taking time to explore FW a bit. Have never really gone there before, except for HDDR)
Liberty Tree using DDP (but worried if we're having a blast and don't want to stop for dinner, could go CS instead (I love Columbia House or Cosmic Rays)
Captain Jacks usng DDP
Big River Grille using DDP (no ADR's - didn't seem to be able to make them. Also, this would be on my departure day, so plans could change).

I thought of getting the QSDP instead and just paying OOP for any sit downs.
That would be a difference of $100 in DDP costs (from basic to QS).
I also have a TIW card, so thought if I just pay OOP for everything, saving on TS with the TIW discount, then my OOP costs would still come in around the same as what the DDP basic would cost. Then if we decided to go with CS instead of some TS, we wouldn't be losing money on the plan.

I thought I could charge all my meals/snacks to my room, to keep track of the costs, and pay at the end. Then I could determine whether it was more beneficial to pay OOP or use the DDP. Then I'd have a better idea for next time.

Sorry if I'm rambling. I have so many different scenarios running through my head about this plan.

Any thoughts or suggestions wouod be appreciated.

Since you have a TIW card I would skip the plan this time. That way you dont have to worry about using up your credits if you just want to skip a TS dinner.
