Ugghhh...need unisex grab bag for $25!

So the adults in my family ( ranging from 35 to 80) are doing a grab bag this year. I don't want to do gift cards or movie tix..any other ideas??

It's cold here so I'd say a new thick throw, unisex fuzzy slippers & a bottle of booze. Maybe a few scratch off tickets and a bag of candy to top it off.

Are there any shared family interests that would make a good basket of items?
Is it the type where you can steal gifts?

Electric throw blanket and a couple of crossword puzzle books or word search books with a brand new pack of pens!

How about a DVD and a fuzzy blanket. Include the receipt and the DVD could always be exchanged if it is not what the person likes. Do they read? How about a book light or a nice bookmark. If you cant do food how about a nice set of mugs for tea, coffee or cocoa.

I wouldn't overthink it. I agree with PP's. Go to CVS, get a $25 Amex card (no surcharge this month for getting a card), put it in a Christmas card. If you play Dirty Santa, watch the feeding frenzy begin!

I just did one for my husband's work. I did:

bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee
travel mug
biscotti
Dunkin Donuts gift card

I put it in a black basket that I got in the dollar store and wrapped it in clear celophane

He received an alcohol gift set in return.

Just my opinion. What's the point of getting someone a $25 gift card from AmEx? It's like getting $25 cash, really not even a gift?

DH and I don't like getting gift cards, we don't drink, and we doing play the lottery. So, I think the key is to know your possible recipients.

If they are all adults and have vehicles, how about auto related gifts? This could include deicer and scraper; jumper cables; or a can of Fix a Flat with a tire gauge.

For silly, but practical: Uncle John's Bathroom Reader and a pack of toilet paper.
