UGG knockoff's are they just as good???

Who's going to know if they are "authentic" ??? Uggs are Uggs....

Sorry. Not true. UGGS are a brand name. Kind of like buying inline skates and calling them Rollerblades. Now if you buy inline skates and slap a fake Rollerblade nameplate on them I think that is called theft.

No, UGGs are not UGGs. There is only one real UGG, however there are other brands of boots the same style as UGGs but carry other trademark names such as EMU. If you purchase a pair of counterfeit UGG boots (the replicas, copys with the (fake) UGG label on the back), you are purchasing an illegally made product. So, it really doesn't matter who knows or doesn't know if they are authentic, they are definitely not UGGs.

I have three pairs of Bearpaws and I LOVE them! They run true to size... I have two pairs of the dream boots, and a pair of the cable knit. I wear socks with them. I bought suede protectant spray for the dream boots and they are holding up really well, I wear them every day and we've had a ton of snow this winter... I'm really impressed. The cable knit I've only worn once, it ended up raining that day and somehow my feet still managed to stay dry!

That's my point exactly.....no one will know whether I'm wearing "real" uggs or counterfeit ones. Only I will know.....so why not. Listen....a lot of people here seem so self righteous. I'm sorry if you think I'm "immoral" but I'm not alone. There are all kinds of people out there buying after market things, counterfeit things, boot leg movies, knock off purses, etc. It's my business and you don't have to agree with it. I have champagne taste with a beer pocket book by choice. I can afford expensive things. Your entitled to your opinions but I don't need a lesson on whats right and wrong. I am an adult and can make my own decisions. Thank you to all of you that gave me positive feedback. It's much appreciated.:goodvibes If i see a web page online with "inexpensive" Uggs I will go for it. I will not spend time investigating real or counterfeit. Who cares!

I also own a pair of Bearpaws that i bought 2 years ago but they are so big and clunky for my feet. I am a petite person and have thin legs so they look like big eskimo feet on me. I've tried Uggs at the mall and they seem to fit me much better and look less clumsy on me. I do feel that my bear paws are SUPER warm though. :)

FWIW......I never said I was going to buy "fake" Uggs, Im just inquiring, and shopping for the best price. ;)

I have three pairs of real UGGs and too many real designer purses and I generally do not support to counterfit market, I personally would never want to carry or wear anything of that matter but shouldn't we give this person props for beeing budget minded. If we saw a post that said "I am filling bankruptcy because I spent way too much money on totally un-neccessary items," Disers would be all over that. I don't agree with just not buying nice boots of another brand but really if it makes the person feel good who cares. My only thing would be if they were asked if they were real and the individual said yes darn well knowing they weren't then thats just a poser.

Obviously you do need a lesson on whether UGGs are UGGs. While I'm not here to tell you what to do, only to give you information, I do have one question. Why is it you need that little label on the back? Why are you trying to fool others into thinking you can afford UGG boots when you really can't? See I wouldn't buy fakes for 2 reason, #1 being the fact that they are made illegaly and #2, I don't need to pretend I'm something I'm not, but you are free to do whatever you want :rolleyes1

You guys are not reading my posts correctly. I CAN AFFORD THEM! I just refuse to pay $100 or more for a pair of boots, it just doesnt make sense to me if I can get them cheaper. To be totally honest with you all, I had no idea there were even "fake" Uggs until I heard about it on these boards. If i would have seen a pair of Uggs for $80 on a website from google, I would have never known if they were "fake". How does one even tell they are "fake". I really don't see what the big issue is. People don't go around asking......"are those real or fake?" Who would ask that besides the Ugg police:rotfl:

All three of my UGGs were about 200 dollars, yes you are paying for the name just like any other brand but the quality is just amazing, i have three real pairs and other than family i haven't told anyone oh oh i have uggs on but just walking in them feeling them makes me happy, i dont tuck my pants in them so no one even knows what i am wearing, people with the fakes get them to impress others and show off their fake boots...if you aren't that type of person you shouldnt get them. Besides you should definatley try on a pair of real ones and then a pair of fake ones, they sell themselves, you might be buying the fake label but garunteed the boots will be poor poor quality and fall apart.

Its not about people knowing if they are real or fake, that isn't the issue.
We tried to explain what the deal was and you called us self righteous, remember.
If you really want to know what the differences is besides the legality of the knockoffs, check out the link in one of my pp's to the UGG Australia site. It tells you how to spot the fakes and what some of the differences are. If you want quality, spend the money on the real ones because if you still spend $80 for the fakes you are wasting your money on garbage materials. They will not last and you will end up spending another $80 next year for another pair.

I don't know what kind of deal you are looking for but I got a $275 pair for $130 tax and all on the sales rack at Nordstrom... kind of hit or miss good luck

Can someone steer me to the best deal on "real" Uggs???

If you wear a woman's size 8 or less you can find an equivelant size in the girls UGGs, they are a little less than the adult sizes. If you can find a code for a dealer that carries the girl sizes it is possible to get a great deal on real ones.

If you know anyone who works at a duhnhams they carry them and could get you a discount.
I have also heard TJ MAXX gets them but also a hit or miss

I bought "ugg"like boots for my college age girls last xmas. I got them Sketchers brand. They love them and wear them all the time. They agree that brand names are usually not worth the extra $$. They were happier to find a $50.00 bill in their boots and bought some cute jeans to wear with them. They still look great this year.

What girls size would be equivalent to a womans size 7???

I'm pretty sure you go down 2 sizes so a girls 5 would be the same as a woman's 7. However I'm not 100% sure so hopefully someone will confirm that. I know there are some DISers who have gotten the kids sizes for themselves.
