UG Park Attendance Report accurate?

Hi, I need advice. Would you guys agree that Friday and Saturdays are low crowd days (relatively speaking) for Epcot? Also, it says that Saturday is a lower crowd day for MK and Epcot. Have you found this to be true?

Friday is indeed one of the lower attendance days for Epcot. Saturday is moderate.

JMHOI think Saturdays are crowded at MK! Last fall we went on a Saturday and since then I vowed never again (unless that is the only night Spectro is showing...then I will go, but just for Spectro!). I think a lot of locals head into the MK on that day plus people who are traveling that day may wrap up the trip with a few rides and people who are arriving will head over there for a few rides.

We have made many trips to WDW over the years and our basic rule for which park/which day is NO MK ON SATURDAY. It is awfully crowded. I do not know why the UG would say it isn't, because it is extremely crowded. Been there in Jan, Feb, April/May, Aug/Oct/Nov......

Epcot is the park we usually do choose for Saturday with no noticable difference in attendance from a weekday.

I am one, however, that has not really felt that the UG has been accurate with their predictions. Just my experience.

We went to the MK early Saturday morning. Tomorrowland was crowded but Frontierland was quiet for a couple of hours. If you get in early and then park hop you should be fine. I read recently that Saturday is a big travel day so that holds down the early crowd.

Thanks for visiting our site. Yes, I think Friday and Saturday are generally good days to visit Epcot.

If you click on the "Crowd Blog" link in the lower, right corner of our home page, you'll see the actual wait time data from the Magic Kingdom we used to come up with our estimates for that park.

If we look at the worst-case waits for the Magic Kingdom's headliner attractions, Saturdays tend to fall in the bottom half of the rankings. Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays are all worse, IIRC. And I think our crowd blog and "Best Days" calendar does a good job of explaining how we came up with these data.

Regarding the "Saturdays are busier" theory, I think it's an urban legend that just won't die. I've never seen any actual data from the parks that support the idea, and the wait times from the Magic Kingdom show it doesn't appear to be true.

Finally, don't forget that your day-of-week choice is about five times less important than getting to the park early, and having a good touring plan. So I wouldn't stress about day of week too much.

It's variable, and subjective.

Use those guides as a tool, not a ruleset. They can't predict many variables and should just be taken into consideration, not used to actually make your decisions.
