UEA Convention Oct. 20 & 21

I am planning my first trip to Disneyland! I was reading the MHP thread and they mentioned that a lot of students from Utah head to Anaheim during the convention which happens to be during the dates I was looking into going-Oct.20-23. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I look into other dates?

We were there during that time in 2014 and didn't really notice that big of a difference. We'll be there during it this year also.

It isn't necessarily the students heading to Disneyland, but their large families meeting up in California to tour the the park with aunts and uncles who also have large families. As a result there is more congestion at intersections and more strollers. Because the families are younger, the large attractions don't see the impact as much as the simple, child pleasing attractions. In terms of changing your October dates, the farther out from Halloween, the better your choice. Are you a WDW veteran or is this your first trip to a Disney park? In terms of MHP, the expense my prevent most of the families from participating.

We live in Utah and avoid UEA.

We were considering going that weekend despite UEA, but the MHP sold out for that Friday night very early. It was the second party of the year to sell out. So we are not going.

Thank you everyone for your opinions! I agree with you twodogs about the party selling out very early. I think we will look at going a couple of weeks later. We have been to Disney World a few times but Disneyland is foreign territory to me!
