UDA College nationals in January

My daughter will be competing at UDA in January and I feel so lost! Based on your past experience, is there time to go to the parks? Is it busy? Should I opt out on Disney parks this first time around? ANY advice would be great! Help a newbie out! LOL

My daughter is competing in the College Cheer competitions. Obviously different but might be similar. Check with the coach and get the schedule. My daughter competes on Friday morning and then finished for the day. We will hit the parks for rest of the day. On Saturday she will compete in morning only if her team qualified in the semis on friday so it's a maybe. She will compete Saturday night for sure in completely different event. So in end we know saturday night is a bust as parks go. Sunday morning only if qualify friday night etc.... And for sure on Sunday night.... That is the picture. Yours is probably similar, you just have to get the schedule from coach with time they will be on stage. Also to make things more difficult there is no Disney transportation to and from ESPN and anywhere so it going to be a busy stressful three days as I see it.

My son competed at Cheer Nationals last April. I went to the parks with another mom. Our kids got very little park time. I enjoyed being able to go to the parks while the teams practiced and did photo sessions. We would leave the parks to head over to ESPN to watch our kids perform.

We had a great time.

How did you get back and forth from hotel/parks to ESPN? We won't have our car this time. We're thinking most likely UBER

There were buses from some hotels to ESPN, but we used Uber from park to ESPN.

Were those Buses for ANYONE to use or just for the Athletes and Spectators staying at the Resorts on Event Packages?

Most likely buses to and from ESPN will only travel from resorts athletes are staying at. Unfortunately we are staying at Dolphin so no buses for us.

They had them for a few other hotels, too. Athletes and guests on the event package could use them. His team was at the Hilton at Disney Springs.
