Uh, I'm shocked Ride Share is allowed on any base whatsoever, unless the driver is also Military. I was a military spouse and we didn't get on without our sticker on the car, it was monitored 24/7, by people who mean business. Without authorization to access (sticker or ID) you went to the visitor parking lot. This was in much safer times too. We're having an issue locally where it's become difficult for Uber and Lyft drivers to enter a nearby military post. Ride share is great and serves a purpose, but it does cause concerns if security is an issue. Obviously Disney doesn't require security clearance but I'm sure that any security process is dynamic.
Disney wouldn't ever have near the security concerns as a military base. And again, if drivers are allowed in to pick up a passenger how can they not be allowed in to drop off, while also picking up someone?
I get this isn't your suggestion, just showing the flaw of whatever reasoning the misinformation was based on.
There are a lot of valid reasons to visit CR that don't involve a reservation, ADR or walking to MK. As long as the car isn't parking there (which isn't allowed without the first 2) then the guards don't have issue with it. They'll ask why someone is going in order to have the resort notified if it's a check in. They can do this at any resort, and have. I find this particular thing varies greatly by guard, not resort. Most hear the driver say "dropping off" and ask to see their ID and that's it.I don't know if this is true or not, but when we uber'd for California Grill in early Feb, the gate wanted our name and the reason for our visit. So they did ask questions.
