Uber/Lyft??

You've got two people here with accurate LOCAL information:
So another advantage to taking an Uber or Lyft is not having to walk back over to other side to use Mears or Sunshine Flyer buses. We fly SW and always have to get our luggage and then take it to the other side.

No. There are designated areas for ride shares. You have to walk to the designated area. You walk to the pickup location. The driver doesn't go to whatever door you select
where did I say the driver goes to whatever door you selected? Don’t put words in my texts please

the app gives you doors to select

@Ross Kratter is a current Uber/Lyft driver in Orlando, and gave the correct information.
I actually started driving for Mears’ Luxury Division instead last week (much better than putting all that mileage and wear and tear on my own car). That said, I still have current info, and I’m at the airport even more now than I was when I was doing Uber and Lyft.

Uber and Lyft will miss you. But you'll get over it pretty quickly, lol...trust me.

Mears should be better than both and much more honest than Lyft.

I am permitted to drive for Uber Black and Lyft Lux Black in Mears’s vehicles, but I’ve been doing well enough with their reservations and flagged fares on their curbs that I haven’t wanted to.

was planning on using Uber on arrival at MCO on 4/3 but now leaning toward Mears shuttle as I’m thinking with quickly rising gas prices the cost of ride shares will be crazy high! I paid $3.50 a gal at BJs yesterday and just checked and price has jumped to $3.90! That’s just crazy...

I am thinking that we will probably take the Mears Express to our resort and order groceries from Publix and have them deliver. For me it is way cheaper and less stress
I have used Instacart with Publix several times and it’s been a great experience.

It’s up to $3.99 or more here in Orlando now. Absolutely nuts. That said, Uber and Lyft prices are based on distance plus time. Any surge pricing, beyond a bonus of a couple of dollars on the ride, is not passed on to the drivers. They’re not going to change what they pay their drivers because gas prices are increasing.

FWIW, I also read your PP as you can go to any door. "Just outside the baggage claim doors" (of which there are many, yes?) doesn't imply you would need to go to a designated area.

And I’m a ride share in Orlando user who has requested a ride from the airport and gave correct information on how I have had to enter the info to request a ride. I don’t understand what the issue is. You do insured have to give them for binder where you want to be picked up. Good luck finding your ride if you don’t

Can’t help if someone is assuming something from what I posted. Assuming is never good idea
Besides when you request a ride it’s rather obvious how it works because you have to enter a door number for pickup
Surely the person requesting the ride will know they have to go to that door

You posted incomplete information, which was then corrected by subsequent posters. How many different doors are there out from the baggage claim area that rideshare drivers are not allowed to pick up at? Compared to the two designated areas that they are. It may seem readily apparent to you as a seasoned MCO rideshare user, but would not be to those that have never used any rideshare and have never been to MCO before.

You're right & wrong. You're right that assuming is never a good idea, but you're wrong that you can't help if someone makes a wrong assumption. IMO, if someone makes an incorrect assumption from what *I* posted, that means I didn't provide enough information, forcing them to make an assumption. If I give enough information, why is an assumption needed?

So please tell me, if someone is told "just meet outside the baggage claim doors" how you expect them to know they actually have to go to SPECIFIC doors?

Yea, ok, sure, when they get there and start the app to put the request in, they can only put certain pick up points. But they won't find that out until they get there. Heaven forbid they learn all the information needed ahead of time.

You’re right, assuming is never a good idea. Only you then, a few seconds later, made an assumption.

There are SO many stupid people out there, compounded by travel.

Does anyone know how much pricing is now for Uber or Lyft? Going to mco to boardwalk on a Saturday afternoon

Any time I want to know costs I open the app, enter starting points and end point and see the prices. Can even do it at the approx time you’ll be riding

we used to rent cars and now just use Uber. Not that you asked for this much info but... ;);)

We spent around $200 for the week and that was airport to POFQ, around WDW to avoid some buses, then to Royal Pacific (UO) for a stay, a trip to the Vineland Outlets and finally RPR back to the airport.
