So I want to be at the park at 7am about an hour before opening to get set up for the BG lottery.

Its my first visit to an All Star resort and my first Uber/Lyft.

Can anyone tell me where they pick you up?
And about how long it will take to get to HS?

In terms of how long the ride will take, plug your start and end destinations in Google Maps. Should be pretty spot on.

They pick up at the lobby of the all stars. It is between at 10-15 minute ride. I will say that we stayed at Music in December and got a bus to HS at 5:45am for a 7am opening. We got to the park at 6am and were in line with plenty of time to get a boarding group.

Someone just posted a exact trip from All Stars as I moved to that resort (64.00 a night is impossible to pass up).

seems about the same. 20 minutes to catch the bus, 20 minute ride.

Just be aware that the drivers don’t wait for more than a few minutes. So if you ‘confirm’ the booking, be prepared to run to the pick up point, if a car is scheduled to be there in minutes.

The only smart choice is to BE AT the pickup point before you request the ride.

The wait period is 5 minutes, but that's five minutes from the time the driver's app detects that the driver is in the area of the pickup...which might be several blocks away, depending on the GPS accuracy at that moment. If the driver is stuck in traffic, they may be close enough to trigger the timer but still may be several minutes away. When the driver's timer expires, the company sends the driver a notification to cancel and move on because other riders are waiting.

Sometimes the cancellation fee ($5 for regular rides, $10 for scheduled rides) is more than the driver will be paid for completing the ride, and you don't want to put yourself in that situation.

I would assume, to be where you say you would before asking for a ride?

Yes, this is the best. Then the pin drops in the right place for the driver. And even then, when at a hotel, I usually message the driver through the app something like "we are out front of the lobby at x hotel". Overkill, most likely. But then I don't worry as much about them not finding us.

Yes. A very common mistake is ordering the ride before you are at the pickup point. That can result in the driver being directed to a completely wrong address, not finding you, and you getting charged a cancellation fee. It can also lead to the driver being dispatched to a place that is impossible to reach by car.

Lyft, is particularly bad with pickup and dropoff points for some reason.

That surprises me because the Minnie Vans run on the lyft platform. I would have thought that would give Lyft an advantage with pick up point accuracy.

It has nothing to do with MinnieVans or Disney. They made a change to their nav system several months ago and it's been trouble ever since. I'm sure MV drivers won't have any issues because they know where they are going.
