Curious if anyone has used Uber to/from the parks to the DVC resorts.

We usually rent a car - we're not fans of the buses - but are curious if this might be an alternative.

We used to rent a car on each trip and now just use Uber instead. It's so much easier. And since we usually budgeted for valet parking, using Uber has also been cheaper.

We actually used it to go to Disney Springs back and forth and it was awesome! So cheap and convenient... and FAST! No hassle. We will always use this if we just want to get somewhere without having to wait for a bus or or the lines are super long!

I'm actually considering this for trip to Niagara rather than renting a car. I don't know if I want to hassle with driving over the border or not. I travel for business all the time (weekly on average) so a rental for vacation is essentially free with the free days I've built up, but I am all about hassle free these days!

We used Uber to go from The Poly AK Lodge for dinner. Easy to use and was pretty quick.

We were staying at OKW and we were going to EPCOT. So we took Uber and had them drop us off at Boardwalk. We walked over to EPCOT. We stayed for Illuminations. Walked back to Boardwalk had a drink at ESPN. Went to entrance to Boardwalk. Called for Uber and waited 5 minutes later we were on way back. Just looked back and it was 10.15 to go to Boardwalk and 5.94 on the trip back. Well worth it.

we've used uber often, but typically to/from dinner @ one of the resorts. We often dine @ the Poly, careful not to time our return with wishes/park close to avoid surge pricing that can be in place.

We will be staying at OKW next month and would like to know how you were picked up. Did you have go to the Hosp house or did you get picked up at your room? Did you have to have someone tell the guard shack that your ride was coming? Thanks

They picked us up right outside our villa and it was done right through the app. And we didn't call the guard shack. I assume with all the use Uber gets that they let them through.

Didn't use Uber but used Lyft to get from SSR to Epcot. Service was good but had issues with the driver being able to actually get into Epcot to drop us off. They didn't want to let him in because he wasn't an actual "taxi". Needless to say, words were exchanged between the driver & security & the driver ended up going in anyway. I wonder if he ever got a ticket...o_O lol

I thought there was a designated pick up/drop off area for Uber/Lyft at Epcot near the bus stops. I have seen signs walking to our bus directing passengers to the area. I think it was near the back end of the first set of bus stops. Near stops 1, 2, 3? I don't really remember.

I used Uber in and out of several parks and resorts in April and never had trouble at any hotel gate or theme park. Epcot's area was not where the taxis are - it was just past the end of the first row of bus stops, but it was well marked.

Interesting idea - we don't typically use Uber but this is an interesting option for our upcoming trip.

If there was an area, my guy didn't know about it. This was also in October 2014 so maybe it was still new then? I was so embarrassed & couldn't wait to get out of the car. Needless to say, we took the bus back.

2014. That makes sense. I saw the waiting area during my Feb. 2016 trip but not during my Sept 2015 trip.

On our last 3 trips to WDW we didn't step foot on a Disney bus. We used Uber every day from VGF to and from the parks except for Magic Kingdom which we rode the monorail. We would pull out our smart phone and schedule a pick up just as we were walking out of room. A large percentage of the time the driver was just pulling in as we approached the drop off area at the front of the hotel. We never had a dirty car or a rude driver and of course the prices are extremely reasonable by comparison to the taxies. it does add some additional $$$ to your trip but not having to wait on busses or dealing with post park exodus lines for WDW transportation at the end of a long day is worth it to us.
