Uber from LAX to Park Vue Inn

The fare estimate for Uber shows it costing $57-$76 from LAX. That seems like a really good price. Does that sound about right to anyone who's done it before?

I'm from Australia. Is there any hidden costs I might not be aware of? For example, would there be tax on top of that price? What's the acceptable amount to tip the driver?

Yes, that sounds about right, but you should add a tip, depending on how much luggage you have. (Similar to a Taxi Driver)

Also, if your group has any children under 8, California requires Car/Booster seat, and unless you brought one, Uber/Lyft is not an option.

They have something called surge pricing, which means they multiply by a number based on the supply and demand of cars and riders. Download both Lyft and Uber and see whch one has a better rate when you're requesting.

Uber doesn't have tipping in the app yet. Lyft does. Neither requires tipping. That being said, if the driver helps with bags, I'd tip a few dollars in cash for Uber. For a 30 mile ride I'd probably throw in a few more dollars, like up to $5. But it's not required, its just that I appreciate the driver taking me that far.

Hey Jess. We recently did the exact same route using UBER after flying into LAX from New Zealand. We ordered the ride once we had collected our bags in LAX and were given an ETA of 10 minutes, which was spot on. We could even see the car's position on the app!

We travelled from LAX to Park Vue Inn on a Sunday morning (7.40 - 8.40 am), taking 60 mins and costing US$44.95.

They do not.

Uber drivers do not get tips unless a rider tips them in cash.
