I recently found ggod flights with BMI (that Wayne said were a decent alternative) - looking again :surfweb: best prices come up with US Airways via Philidelphia. So same question - can anybody give me any information on this airline please??

We are hoping to meet a friend who lives out in Charlotte so Virgin is no good for us this time.

Thanks

They are not bad at all. We did the Christmas before last with them. The plane was an lovely big new Airbus with the best IFE we have ever had (Video on demand et al). The change in Phili is surprisingly easy and you complete immigration there and then just hop on the other plane for the short trip down to MCO.

Phili was undergoing a massive refurb at the time we went. It was fine then but I am sure that it will be even better now. We got something to eat there (TGI's if I remember rightly) so allowing us to just go straight to the villa in Orlando rather than worrying about something to eat later.

We may well be a little biased though as we got a free first class upgrade on the way out.....best chrsitmas present ever from the nice lady at Manchester check in.

I wouldn't worry about them at all - and if they are cheap then go for it.

I have travelled on US Airways on a couple of trips they were ok, I felt better than American Airways. For travelling to Orlando I would suggest a trip via Charlotte rather than Philly if possible

We've travelled with them on every trip to Orlando and think they're pretty good. Having flown BA to JFK, I have to say I prefer US Airways.

Flying with them again in 2 weeks time. Like Steve and Sarah, we like the in-flight entertainment. The cabin staff tend to be more on the mature side than the British airlines but are friendly and helpful enough.

We also go from Manchester via Philly and have benefited from a free upgrade or two - which has probably made us a little biased too!

Thanks for the info - with an 8 yr old I think we may miss out on the upgrades!!

Andy our flight schedule would be manchester to Phily to charlotte (1st leg) - then charlotte to orlando (quick surprise trip for DD) - then orlando, phily, manchester. Exhausted just writing it down for you!!:)

Hi we used us airways last year and we went via Charlotte then orlando I was abit worried as the last time we went direct with virgin but it was fine no problems at all and we saved nearly £600 which was great:banana:

We flew with US airways in Jan, via charlotte. We had no problems at all and when Dh was sick (before we even took off) they were great. They shuffled passengers around so that we had 4 seats to ourselves so that dh could lie down!

One of the big differences to Virgin is that Virgin is always full - holiday makers etc, whereas US airways to Charlotte was only about half full - it's more of a business flight, so less kids etc (I don't have anything against kids, but it was more peaceful).
