U 2 hot to trot, or walk, or ride rides or...?

I pm'd you back D~
And I pm'd you also Ruthie.

So, DS#2 and DDBF have decided on where to stay for the first 3 nights.
Taking a que from Bridget....... any guesses?

In the meantime, I will tell you, I called and spoke with Angel and made the reservation for the boys this morning. For the time being I made the room only reservation with a AAA discount. If they release the annual pass discount we can use that as DS has an AP. If they release FD that will be a little trickier. If I am correct in the thought that all guests on the reservation have to also be buying a pass ... Can anyone confirm that? We will have a slight issue, as I said DS already has his AP. Since we usuallys stay DVC (which means we have to purchase dining plan if we want it), I am not certain on the rules when not using dvc points for rooms. IF it is correct that all guests staying in the room have to purchase a pass, then we will list DD (or if our other son comes him), on the room with DDBF. Did you all follow that? :confused3

The AAA discount is about $30. per day, or apprx. 15%. IF AP and FD are both released for our dates, I will have to put some figures together to see which is better, taking into consideration the ADR's they have for those few days.

I am just so pleased the last hotel reservation has been made. :cool1: Well... that is unless DS#1 decides to join us. Which would be wonderful! And I will gladly adjust the reservations to accommodate:goodvibes.

I am getting so excited. :woohoo: Since DDBF got back from Japan and is settling back to his schedule, we are all able to go forward with plans. Poor kid his mind was racing with all he had going on. Now he is all excited about Disney. He & my DD are actually the ones bringing it up now. We just ALL have to be careful. We must remember not to discuss it with DD#2 in the hearing distance. We don't want to ruin any surprises, now do we??? :rolleyes1

So, back to.... any guesses on which resort the 2 young men of our party have chosen for the 1st leg of our trip?

I guess AOA. I would love to stay there!! Or maybe POP? I'm not really sure though.

Spoiling the surprise for poor DD #2 would not be a good thing but I am glad that they are so excited!!!!

I am certain that you all have to purchase passes for Free Dining - at least that's what I remember hearing, however... I am not sure how that works with APs??? Yup - best to go ask on the main board like Ruthie said. :thumbsup2

Congrats on booking your resort... Hmmm... I can't even fathom a clue - however, I am pretty sure it isn't AoA, because standard rooms are booked solid while we are there... So, I am going to go with Bridget's answer of POP??? :surfweb:

D~

Great Morning Dee..got your PM and your # answered & you should now have mine too !

Wow, about the question with tickets, discounts, FD etc etc I wish I could help I haven't got a clue ? I would suggest posting a new thread on the theme parks attractions and strategies area of the Dis (probably the wrong spot but moderator will move if it really bugs them) and I am SURE either Mike (CheshireFigment) Rob (Robo) or mesaboy2 (what IS his name ?? ) will jump to answer you these are MY go to people on the boards ( take anyone elses' answers with a pound of salt !)

Can't guess which resort they picked hmmmm???? can you give another hint ;)

:cheer2: Let the planning continue !!

Have a blessed day tty soon Ruthie

Good idea to check out the main board. I'm sure the Restaurant or Budget board have something. Or.... I could call. ;) Thanks for the suggestion!
I'll give another hint at the end of this post.

I guess AOA. I would love to stay there!! Or maybe POP? I'm not really sure though. DD would love to stay at AoA, but nope. Not PoP either.

Spoiling the surprise for poor DD #2 would not be a good thing but I am glad that they are so excited!!!! I am happy everyone is excited too. And no we don't want to ruin the surprise.

I think that is the way. I am going to ask on the main board though.

Nope, not POP.

Okay, here is another hint. They have a water view.

Due to unfore told circumstances there is a possibility some of our party will not have park hopper passes. Which means on day #2 when we were planning on starting at the MK after breakfast at CM's, then ending at Coral Reef in Epcot, may not be happening. So, we are now considering having dinner at LTT in MK. All our older kids love this restaurant, but I haven't been thrilled with it the last 2 trips. The last trip the waiter spilled a drink on me on 2 different occassions during this one meal!!! Plus, the food wasn't as good as it used to be, IMO. But the adult children still enjoy it. I most likely will change this nights dinner. Cutting out one of our never trieds. (Coral Reef was going to be a first for us). But, honestly, I can live with that. There are a couple other options in the mix also. But, I don't want to discuss them until I know more details.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

so... no more guesses on what resort with a water view the 2 guys chose?

Well, I got confirmation that some of the party will not be getting park hoppers. I certainly understand it. DH & I were considering having another dessert party at Epcot, but that was the only night we could have done it that everyone could show up, so we will not be doing a DP this trip unless something changes. Probably just as well. I had contacted the Disney catering people and the prices had increased, and the 1 dessert EVERYONE liked last time we wouldn't be able to do because of the size of the venue we wanted being to small for the food station.

So, I canceled the Coral Reef ADR & made one for all of us at Liberty Tree Tavern. I was happy I was able to get one there. But, it does make me a bit nervous, as they had 3 times to choose from. None of the other restaurants I have looked into were that available. I'm afraid that confirms my opinion that the food has gone down hill in recent years. But, the company will be fabulous and I'm sure we will all have fun!

I may look into the dessert party in MK. I know it isn't private and I have heard mixed reviews. I will have to research it more. I am just looking for something a little special.

Now, somewhat off topic....
Reminder - I have triplets in college. They all started at the same time, but due to some issues 2 are not graduating this spring as they would have been if they stayed on schedule. DS#2 is however. Now, a bit of an explanation:
Long story short... as you all know we lost 4 important people in our lives in a 15 month period. Our kids lost 3 grandparents and a dear friend of DH &mine that was closer than most uncles are to kids. He was involved in planning every event in their lives from my babyshower to their high school graduation. Well, DD#1 suffered a bit of depression after his (the 2nd death.) death. And DS#1 after the 4th death. So, their school work suffered. DS#2 already had a support team in place, so he wasn't affected as much as the others.

Okay, so here is how it affects our WDW trip. DH & I would like to do something for DS that as graduating in 2 weeks. :cool1: but he doesn't want anything. He is a HUGE disney fan, and I know he would like the graduation Mickey ears, and whatever else we could do. We would like to do something for each of them as they graduate. HOWEVER, by the time we go in August DD would have graduated also (please God..). DH & I thought it would have been nice to give them all 3 their own special thing as they complete this milestone. Since they have never really had an individual party for anything. (although, I do cook them each a special meal & their own bday cakes on the day of their birth). So, if we plan something special in Disney for 2 of them, it would take away from the individual accomplishment. But, we can't celebrate 1 and not the other. PLUS, if DS#1 does come with us, he will not have graduated yet. He doesn't until December. We don't want to not include him, but we have learned not to count our chickens until they are hatched. So.. can anyone think of anything that wouldn't be too expensive, but we could do 2 separate special events for each of them. Oh, yeah, don't forget on top of all those celebrations, the trip is technically for DD's 10th bday.

I think I would just leave the WDW trip as the celebration BD trip for DD # 2 and do individual celebrations for the college triplets seperately That being said I saw a new Disney 2013 Graduation Pin on eBay you could get for the HUGE Disney fan that might be a nice idea OR you could call the wdw merchandise line OR have a friend ;) pick up the graduation cap/ears and send to you not sure if any of this will be here in Aug as stuff like that goes FAST on property & June being typical graduation month...hmmmm? not sure what you should do for DD #1 or DS # 1 's grad though

Now as far as your hint of resort & H2o :rotfl2: could you narrow it down just a little bit more ???? I think I could find water at any resort except maybe AS

O.k. I'm here with another guess.....Port Orleans French Quarter. I don't think any values have a water view so that takes them out. I'm not sure that the guys would want to split a deluxe so I've ruled them out. I would guess either POFQ or Caribbean Beach.

As for the graduation gift/party/event, what about a small reception at a favorite restaurant of their's or maybe at home? OR how about some unique and special gift for just them that they can enjoy? I don't know your children but it could be something that they enjoy a lot that maybe the others aren't interested in as much. I'm sure you will think of something wonderful!

This is what I was thinking too... Doesn't POP and AoA have a lake in between them? I think water could be anywhere. You need to give us a better hint... ::yes::

I am not sure what to do for graduation - I thought the trip was part celebration for dd's bday and part celebration for ds's graduation. To make it fair - you could bring the other graduates next year... :cool1:

so funny - I saw pins on ebay & ordered them yesterday! 3 disney characters with graduation 2013 on it! I only ordered one for DS that loves Disney. I think I may have to order another one for DD. I would like a different one. I am hoping maybe they will come out with a tink one. or one a little more feminine. OKAY, I am wondering if you are in my brain, because I asked DH last night what he thought about getting the graduation Mickey hat for them. :lmao:

I find I keep wishing either all 3 would have graduated by Aug. or only 1. I love the thought of doing a small reception in Disney, but hate that it would technically be for just the 2 of them. I know I could have a 3rd reception at home after the 3rd graduates, but it seems it should be either individual partys or 1 big one. I could do 1 in May/June, 1 in Aug, and 1 in December. That is when each of them will technically graduate. BUT the thing is the 1 that is graduating in May is the BIGGEST Disney fan. Ideally I would like for HIS to be in Disney. but..

This is what I was thinking too... Doesn't POP and AoA have a lake in between them? I think water could be anywhere. You need to give us a better hint... ::yes::

D~ I like the way you think. :goodvibes:goodvibes Not sure DS#1 would enjoy that, he may rather a trip elsewhere. But a seperate trip next year would be good.

Now, about the guesses. - Bridget is correct! You win.... the knowledge of knowing you were correct! yay you! :cool1: Port Orleans French Quarter. 2 boys with the idea of Mardi Gras on the brain???? :confused3 no... I don't think so. :rotfl2: IF DS#1 decides to join us, we will look into the cabins at Fort Wilderness. I have found that 22 year old girls are more likely to be okay with sharing a bed with a friend than 22 year old boys. They would prefer to sleep on the floor than share a bed with a buddy. So the cabins would give them each their own bed.

Now, that all the hotel ressies are made. All the ADR's are made. Airflights are purchased. I need to start investigating the best deal on rental cars. We usually use either National or Alamo (which I beleive are actually the same mother company). We have always gotten a decent price on a mini van. The most I think we have ever paid was $325ish for 10 days. This time the prices are outrageous! Almost double what we usually pay. I keep bidding at priceline. We shall see how that turns out.

then it will be onto goodie bags. I am going to put together a list of ideas. More likely than not, it will be similiar to the ones I made for the last trip. But, I only have so much I can create. ;)

I hope everyone enjoyed/is enjoying their weekends.
Ruthie, I hope you are continuing to heal. May is almost here. prayers to you.
D~ waiting anxiously for the big auction.
Bridget, only a few weeks left of school & you will be enjoying your well planned trips. Can't wait to see your shirts this time.

YAY!!! I WON!!! I WON!!!! I would like to thank all the.......oh wait, what??? I didn't really win anything? Well that's a shame! BUT I WANTED TO WIN!!! :lmao:

O.k. so maybe the massive amount of drugs haven't worn off.....I'm a little loopy this morning!

::yes:: Yep saw that too and thought of you IMMEDIATELY, don't think Disney has any other pin coming out other than that one though, The Disney Co can be extremely sexist at times when it comes to pins..It irks me to no end that the Thank You Military Pins are ALWAYS male shaking Mickeys Hand they don't listen to me though :rotfl: I had suggested APs for the kennel clubs when they owned them and don't even get me started about the lack of merchandise for my beloved Pluto..all by himself ...saw the grad hats too but look at them carefully, there are some that the mortar board looks real "floppy" and others that look more "structured" KWIM

To this my Scottish maternal grandfather (poppop) would say "Now Lassie if wishes were horses beggars would ride"...;) You'll get it figured out

:yay: Yeah Bridget you have bragging rights..Dee:.If DS # 1 doesn't decide soon you'll just have to get him a pup tent over there

Keeping busy doing the best I can around here there is definitely an odor of perfume de canine in the air..managed to give 2 out of 7 a bath, stripped the bed, did washes, then hung out the sheets & comforter..that was fun :rolleyes2 wet+ cloth=heavy....Tues I start 3 hr PT sessions 3 days per week...:faint: I WANT this but I am exhausted thinking about it ....have a blessed week all

That does stink Disney is sexist. They should have female military icons!!! There certainly are more and more of them lately!!! A graduation tink pin is nothing in comparison to the woman who fight for our freedoms. I may have to write a letter on this! Better yet I have a friend who is wonderfull at writing letters like that. And her brother is in the military, sure it will strike a nerve for her too.

As far as DS#1 joining us... I think that would take us paying for it. And that just wouldn't be fair. I don't mind helping, but to foot the entire bill. If it was just the hotel & air, maybe. But, I tried to talk all of them into paying the extra $100 to upgrade from the park pass we bought them last time to an AP and only DS#2 took us up on it. Now, the other 2 have to dish out the hundreds of dollars to purchase park passes. I don't think it would be fair if DH & I paid for it for them. I may cave & reimburse DD#1 & DS#2 for part of the flights or passes. And give DS#1 the same amount toward his trip. I would like for all of us to be together for this trip.

Ruthie good luck with the PT on Tues.

Have a great week everyone!!

Wait!! What is that you said???? D~ is offering a bag for first prize??!?!?! Wow!!! I won! I won!! :lmao: :rotfl2: O.k. just kidding......I'll gladly accept my bragging rights!!

I agree with you on what you do for one of the kids, you should do for all. It's hard but fair.

I hope you have a great week!

I know you can't and we of course were joking although I can not wait to see the bag you do create for me this fall!!!

Oh - I know you were joking... :thumbsup2

Me too... I have a lot of great items on my schedule this fall - and I am super excited to get to work on them!

D~

:rotfl2: Good thing we can all follow a joke here, other wise there could be a huge issue. :rotfl2:

Anyone mind if I share a story about my youngest that is unrelated to Disney?
If you do.... don't read the next paragraph. :lmao:

DD(9) 4th grade. I will just do a run down.
Last year someone wrote not so nice things about DD on bathroom wall. Principal decided to tell my DD that it was a girl with the same name that was a grade higher than my DD. That child is now in a different school. My DD is the only one in the school with her name.
Last Weds. someone wrote my DD first & last name, some mean stuff, then signed it from DD's best friend. Obviously not true. So, Principal gathers all the girls. Tells them IF the person that did it comes forward their parents will be called, but they WILL be allowed to go on the fieldtrip that was to be Friday. IF the do not find out who it was NONE of the girls can go on the field trip. Handwriting is evaluated & the girl is identified. She denies it. And is not allowed to go on the FT. However all the others are. Then the weekend happens. All of which my DD continues to talk about how she can not believe it was this girl (i actually had a tough time believing it to.). DD decides whether it is this girl or not, she is going to forgive her. She & I talked & we feel as though maybe the girl was just jealous of the friendship DD & her BFF have. Maybe she felt slighted. So, today the girl tells DD she is sorry she hurt her feelings. DD says, "ok. want to play with me at recess?" Then the girl writes DD a note, telling her how she is very sorry & she will never hurt DD's feelings again.
All I can hear in my head is something my older daughter & her guy best friend used to say all the time. I think it may be from a movie. They used to say.... "why can't we all just get along". Wouldn't it be nice if the entire world felt this way?
I am very proud of my DD. She knows she maybe setting herself up to be picked on again, but she is willing to chance that instead of being mad all the time. :confused3 I have to admit, this would go under do as I say, not as I do. I try, but I am not usually this forgiving.
She is just like one of her brothers. He was bullied by this one kid in particular from 1st to about 4th. Then a teacher caught him, and made him stay in for recess. My son's reaction? He felt bad, and offered to stay in with him. :confused3 He is such a well adjusted adult, but it has NOT been an easy road for him. I am so fearful DD is following the same road. But, I can't guide her to NOT be forgiving! I just warn her of the possible consequences.

Anyway, the reason I share it here, is I want to retract what I advised regarading the Target incident. D~ forgive & forget. I still would mention the confusion on their coupon policy. But, who knows, maybe that woman had horrible personal problems going on, that she took out on you. Maybe by you NOT reporting her she will be able to address those problems. I don't know, but I respect my little girl, and in doing so looked at my own response & thought I had somethiing to learn from her.

What an amazing example your daughter is!!! :lovestruc

I have a tough time forgiving too and wow, I could definitely learn something from her. I do think it's great of the school though to take such a proactive role in the bullying and even keeping her from a special trip. Children need to learn young that actions have consequences so that they don't make so many bad choices when they are older! ;)
