HI
Hubby just got home from Orlando, he did a park and fly package at the sofitel ( which was a problem in itself with being given wrong rom type), which is unusual as weve stayed there 10 plus times and never had any issues.....well today hes gotten off the plane only to find his tyre flat with a screw in it and has had to change the wheel befor edriving home......just what you need after a long haul flight.

My question here is can we make the hotel pay for it??, the tyres were new a month ago and very expensive, hubby drives a Jaguar Xf, and if it had happened on his way there his tyre pressure sensors(which are very sensitive ) would have gone off, plus when they went to move it , it would have already been flat, the car was moved top an offsite carpark and back again yesterday and was fine then, so its definatly something they did rather than us, was as flat as a dodo this morning with large hole/ tear from screw.

The manager is aware of what has happened but we have not discussed replacing it with him yet, was unsure where we stood, anyone know of this happening before??? , surely there insurance would cover this sort of thing.....?????

What a pain Terri ::yes:: Sorry I wouldn't know if the hotel should pay for the repair, have you heard back from them ? I hope hubby had a good trip

Its a pain but i'd be surprised if the hotel pay out as it could happen anywhere. If the nail is in the middle of the tyre rather then near the edge/rim it can most likely be repaired. There insurance excess would probably be very high so they would be reluctant to use that, they may choose to pay out of pocket but there is probably a sign in the car parks saying they don't accept responsibility for anything that happens to your car whilst park.

i work in the building trade, we always get the blame for screws in tires. We do a lot of schools, and loads of times teachers are coming up to us to say they have picked up a screw in there tire from us.Sadly its one of those things thats impossible to prove, so we have never had to pay out.So would think you would get no-ware with the hotel.unless you can prove it with CCTC showing someone dropping it in there grounds and going into your tire

I would suggest that unless you can prove beyond reasonable doubt negligence on the part of the hotel or its agents, you will need to bear the cost. :confused3
