"Typical" Dinner Time?

I'm just wondering what people consider a "typical" dinner time. DW and I normally eat around 4:30 - 5:00 at home (which translates to 5:30 - 6:00 WDW time). So last year during our honeymoon, we made our dinner ADR's for around 5:00ish (earlier than we normally eat, but adjusted for eating breakfast a little earlier than normal). And the restaurants always seemed pretty quiet during this time. Did we just happen to hit them on unusually slow days? Or would this be considered an early dining time?

I guess the reason I'm asking is next year we are going to try to avoid making too many advance ADR's; we would rather plan our dinners around the park we're going to be at, and not the other way around. Last year we had no problems at all with making ADR's the morning of that ADR, but I'm not sure if we got lucky or if our usual dining time is early enough where we didn't have to worry about the restaurant being booked when we wanted to eat.

(This is really more of a general opinion type question than a continuation of the big "ADR or No ADR" debate.)

We eat dinner at home anytime between 630-9pm, depending upon our schedule. We usually don't get home from work until 5:30-6 on good days.

On vacation, our dining times are usually later - 730-830. For one, we prefer eating a little later at nicer restaurants because less families with very young children are there and it's a more adult environment. Esp after 9pm. We also tend to eat a later lunch, between 1-2, and snack more than we do at home (gotta try all the fun snacks!) so we're not hungry until later.

I'm looking at our reservations for our next trip - they are very random in times because of other things like nighttime shows and tours that we are trying to catch:

7pm
8pm
5:30
8:30
6:50
7pm
7pm
6:40

Normal for us (my DH and I) is around 5:30-6 at home, and around 8 or 8:30 on vacation. However, we are going in Oct. with my mother, her BF, and my sister, who all tend to eat at around 4 or 4:30, so most of our ADR's are for close to that time.

Normal for us is no later than 5:30. All our reservations are between 4:55 and 5:15.

At home, we eat dinner around 7:00. On vacation at WDW, we eat our big meal at lunch time and eat at counter service for dinner when ever we're hungry.

I would consider 5:30 an early dinner time. For one, most places are just opening around 5:00 for dinner.

Our typical time at home is around 7:30 but on weekends and vacation we tend to eat a bit earlier to avoid the crowds.

Typical for us is 8:00. We don't leave our respective work places until 5:00-5:30 and it takes us well over an hour to get home. Then we relax for a bit. We tend to keep on that track while on vacation. Only exception - the Disney cruise with my in-laws. They had to eat at 6:00. Killed us.

At home, a typical dinner time would be between 6-6:30. At WDW, we eat between 5:30-7pm... If I want a reservation and they have don't have anything before 7:15, I just come up with another idea...

Many of us fancy, perfumed, East Coast types would not dream of sitting down to dinner before 8pm. But with kids we push it up to 6:30pm (or maybe earlier).
