I am considering getting an AP . . . what might tip the scales for me (in favor) is a discount at the GCH. Can anyone give me an idea of what type of discount is typically available for an AP holder? (The website won't tell me without a login.)

Thanks! :)

10% is typical, when bookings are slow they go up. If there is a general special the AP rate will be lower.

I went to the AP section of the DLR site and found this under specials:

Also wanted to add, there may be a limited number of these reservations available and/or days it is available.

just an FYI...many times I have found the on site hotels to have lower prices on the discount sites like hotels.com than the AP rate.

As an AP holder and frequent guests of the Grand, I can tell you that you always get at 10% - even in high season. Other discounts range from 20-40% depending on the current AP offer. For example, I went in Dec and paid $285/night including taxes and am going in March and paying $288 for Thurs night and $338 for Fri and Sat nights. In high season last summer, I paid $389/night. Hope that helps.

The AP rates are limited when announced so you need to book quickly. I was actually surprised that they did AP rates through 4/16 since that period covers various spring breaks.
