i just saw that they are still open after Thanksgiving? Is the water heated? I would think it would be too cold to swim.

The water is not heated to my knowledge. Thanksgiving can be a very varied time of year. You can get an 85 degree sunny day, which is plenty warm for swimming...or you could get a 65 degree overcast day.

"too cold to swim" is incredibly subjective. I won't get in the water if the weather hasn't been in (at least) the upper 70s for a few weeks. Some people (especially those from colder climates) think that 60 degrees is fine for swimming.

The water parks won't be crowded at that time of year, but they won't be empty, either

All pools on property at the hotels and both water parks are heated, the water isn’t heated to the point of warming you up if it’s cold outside but it keeps it from being frigid. It’s not uncommon to get days in the upper 70’s after thanksgiving, you would be fine going to a water park on a warm day.

If the forecast is for unseasonably cold temps, they will close the water parks. However, temps fluctuate quite a bit in FL, so they are, generally open every day (except when they are in the seasonal refurbs). We've gone in mid-December for the last 3 years and temps have always been in the mid-70's-80's at least during the weeks we've been there. We've also been there in Feb. when the temps dipped into the 40's-50's. You just never know!
