Did I read that Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon was no longer????? This was my husband's favorite experience, and honestly the closest thing to snorkeling as we are ever going to get. Is this area closed now? Thanks for your info.... Jane

It was still open in the beginning of September, though I don't know if perhaps it has closed since then.

Here is a link to a thread with some recent items on the subject. Say bye bye to the sharks.http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3364734&highlight=shark+reef+closed

That's my thread. Please read ALL the posts.

Spoiler alert

Its open

But there was a post from someone who talked to some BB life guards and they are looking into converting the area into a kids play area. The only news I could get out of my CM Niece was that the Water Quality Control Team was checking it out.

Being a lifelong Midwesterner and avid Discovery channel fan, I stay out of any water that has sharks in it. I know that's irrational, but I don't care :snooty:
That's why central Florida works just fine for me. That being said... my DD got me to try the shark reef a few years ago and now it's one of the things I look forward to the most each trip. So cool, would be really bummed if it ever was shut down!

I guess you don't watch swamp people. :rolleyes1

Such a great attraction, from reading the other thread it seems as it is open for now, hoping it stays that way! It's one of the big draws of TL, as for something that BB has nothing like

Maybe either the kids or the sharks can have laser beams :lmao:

"You know, I have one simple request, and that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads ... Throw me a bone here. What 'do' we have?"
"Sea Bass"
"Riiiight..."
"They're mutated sea bass"
"Are they ill tempered?"
"Absolutely"
"Oh well, that's a start."

(my apologies to those of you under 40 who likely have no clue why I felt compelled to type the above message)
