Has anyone rented Getaway Glen Umbrellas as TL? We have a 15 month old and am wondering if this would be a good option for us?

I would recommend it, as you then don't have to worry about rushing to get chairs in the shade with a 15 month old at RD, and it's always much quieter and calmer in Getaway Glen. My family has rented both the umbrellas and cabanas in the past and were happy with both. We will be renting a cabana on our next trip with our daughter, who will be 16 months old.

We rent umbrellas every time we go. It makes it easy so that we don't have to worry about finding chairs, our stuff is somewhat protected and it gives us a good meeting place when we are separated. Plus, there is a lot of room in there and the umbrellas are pretty well spread out, so you don't feel like any other party is on top of you. Also, the foot traffic is a lot less, so if your 15 m/o just wants to sit and play in the sand, they can and you can feel relaxed that they won't get tripped over or in someone else's way.

Disney is great, but there are certain convenience upgrades that make it 10x better—this is one of them.

I really want to reserve a cabana but it's so expensive. We've done the Umbrella rental once and have it booked again for our trip in August. It is so nice not having to worry about finding chairs. That can be a pain. I think it's totally worth the money.

I’ll pile on here. Totally worth it for shade and a quiet place to nap for a 15 month old and whoever is lucky enough to get to nap with him/her! heehee

I agree with everyone else. We rented an umbrella last year and will be doing so from this point forward. It was very nice to have a spot that was our own. The area is roped off so foot traffic is minimal. We enjoyed not having to hurry to find chairs and we liked that we had a shaded spot. I say go for it.

I rented our umbrella by calling the recreation number. I would also let them know if you want a specific location.
