I think we've decided to try TL this trip. We've never done the water parks. We have a DD 6 and a DD 15 months. I think we'll be spending lots of time in the kiddie area. Can anyone tell me if there are any shady spots near the kids area? I'm trying to figure out where we should head when we get in there to grab a good spot. Also, does anyone know if they have sand toys to rent?

Thanks!

There isa coverted area on the sand at the kids area with picnic type tables & chairs. Don't know about the toys though.

To answer the question about toys, they do not rent sand toys, but they sell them at a pretty decent price. I'd definitely buy or bring sand toys for younger children. My son loved TL when he was 10 months old because it was the first time he ever got to play in the sand!

For any shady spot at TL, head for it immediately. You'll find folks running like madmen to grab the very few shady areas at this water park. We once stood in line (at opening) and watched as the mob surged forward. We were in no real hurry, so we just walked our way in. In that short space of time, almost all the spots with shade were claimed. We were very lucky to find one.
Time span--probably 15 minutes---.

The toys in the gift shop ranged $9.99-19.99 for little sets of sand toys. I bought 1 set, but we went back multiple times in 1 trip, so I kept bringing them back. Also, if you buy the lunch deal for kids, 1 choice is to get it in a bucket w/ a shovel.
