Typhoon Lagoon Question

So we will be at Disney in August this year and we want to rent one of the cabanas at Typhoon Lagoon. It is just a special treat that we want to do for the day. There are a total of 10 of us. I know it says they are for 6 people, but I also read that you could have up to 10 max, but would have to pay $25 for each person over #6. I tried to call and reserve a cabana today, but the lady said 6 was the max and you can not pay for extra people. So I tried to do some more research on this and found an old thread from 2012 stating that the phone reservation people can only put 6 in the system, I guess, and that when you get to the park that is where you add the other 4. Does anyone know if this is true or what the actual policy is on this? $100 for 4 more people in our party is a lot better $320 more!

Thanks for any insight you all can give me!

I don't know the answer to this but I'm going to bump it for you to keep it on the first page in case Cheshire gets a chance to look at it.

He's a CM that works at a Water Park last I heard, and he would know the answer to this...

Thank you very much! :)

I can't answer the pricing question for you directely since we only had 6 people in our cabana at TL in May. But, I just wanted to say, in case there was any doubt in your mind, that I thought it was absolutely worth it to have the cabana. We had young kids, ourselves and then grandparents. It gave us a shady place to eat lunch, rest and regroup (and in summer, this shade would be even more important). Didn't have to try to rush in and grab shady chairs, and no one was going to move our things while we were away. We got towels, cold water and a sandy play area. The kids' lunches came in a bucket with a shovel (well, they shared a kids' meal, but the attendant was super sweet and brought another bucket and shovel for my other child). It has a locker so your stuff is secure while you are off at the water park. It would be pricey to buy two, but I recall that you could add folks on at the park, I think (Cheshire will know...). It would be a bit crowded if you were all in it at once, but if you stagger your lunch time, etc, should be ok. I think the seating was just enough for 6 people with a small table.
