At first when I saw the november hours I was sad that Blizzard Beach was going to be closed...but noe I see that Typhoon Lagoon has real sand and looks like fun...what do y'all think???

Free snorkling at Shark Reef is a major pro in my opinion. The wave pool is also a lot bigger than the one at BB.

I love the wave pool too. Its bobbing waves like Blizzard Beach for a while then it swithces to the big rolling surf type waves for a good long time. I love to try and swim with those and body surf a little.

It has a lazy river like Blizzard Beach.
The shark thing is something my husband loves. I fear those fish getting near me and its cold so I avoid that one and get into the lazy river when he does that.

This past summer I discovered the kiddie play area. It was fun for my Granddaughter (Almost 3 years old)

They have some slides not as many as Blizzard beach but I know I have done some in the past.

Lots of pros for Typhoon Lagoon as mentioned by previous posters. Cons???? Can't think of any.

Blizzard beach is more of a "thrill" water park, which is why I think it is a little more popular with the teen crowd. TL has a definite tropical feel to it. We love the atmosphere there and actually prefer TL over BB. The only con I can think of is it would be nice if it has a few more waterslides.

Only con I can think of is that the family raft ride is very short compared to BB. This last trip was our first time to TL, after 3 trips to BB. Can't believe what we have been missing! It seemed to be much less crowded, cooler, and the wave pool seemed less packed as well. Could be that there were no tubes in it - while BB was packed with tubes. It's our new favorite water park!

I love the wave pool at TL. I think the theme at TL appeals more to the people from up north. We live down here so its not much different from what we see every day. Both parks are great and I would hate to pick only one to visit. The cons of TL are the family raft ride, a real disappointment compared to BB. I think it is nothing more than a chance for Disney to sell you a family photo. Also several of the paths leading to the slides wind around more than they need to. You have to climb up and DOWN and then back up again. The ones at BB are much more direct. There is also a chair lift at BB that will carry you back to the top where is just a short walk to many of the slides. The cons of BB are the small wave pool, long lines and it always seems more crowded.

Funny - my family felt TL had alot more to do than BB in terms of slides that we could all enjoy. And I felt that BB treks up to the top of the slides was exhausting at times.

TL had it all (yes, it would be great if the family raft ride was alot longer, but hey we rode it several times and only Blizzard's twice).

We also felt it was easier to get around TL. BB wrapped you around many paths. And the atmosphere at TL was so much nicer.

We liked TL so much we went back a 2nd time on our recent trip. It's a beautiful water park with it's tropical atmosphere. It was very easy to get around and we felt comfortable letting our boys be on their own. The adult drinks they serve are pretty good and the ice cream is delish! The wave pool was so much fun, we spent hours there. Next trip we plan on spending even more time there.

I love the atmoshpere at TL the lush tropical feel provides for more shade from the sun...while BB does not have as much shade. The wave pool at TL is awesome as others have mentioned the Family raft ride is very short, but other than that I find TL and BB to be about the same and I just prefer TL becuase it is not as crowded as BB and provides more shade in addition to that I just love the tropical ambience (maybe becuse I'm from the north and we have no palms here :( !)

all4fun mentioned teenagers. Has anyone else noticed a significant difference in the teen presence at the 2 parks? My kids are 9 and 7. I would prefer to go to TL if the teen crowd is significantly less.

Also, any thoughts on which park has more for kids the age of mine (ignoring the teen factor)

The biggest "con" in my opinion is NO shade. Or almost none. The first 1/2 hour after opening, all the spots with an umbrella are gone.
Another con is the long walk back to the tops of the water slides--

The third con is the crowds--that lazy river was so jammed with people (in and OUT of the tubes) we couldn't even relax for the ride.

We found the lazy river at BB to be even more crowded, and very rough in the cave! - I got shoved into the side by a woman in her 20's who was trying to drench the two guys she was with - and everyone seems to need to scream in that cave

I know that feeling!!
Wish it really were like the commercials you often see for TL and BB--a family just flaoting along side-by-side, enjoying a lazy trip around the park.
Not reality, unfortunately.

Gosh, everyone just loves the snorkling, but I didn't care for it much. I went in the heat of summer (August) and the water was SO cold, I couldn't breathe. I scooted to the other side so fast I couldnt enjoy it! Maybe I'm just a big baby. ;)

The snorkling with the fish & sharks was great. Went in late Aug. and the water was colder than the rest of the park, but I found it refreshing.

TL had lots of shade provided by the palm trees. Had body slides and tube slides.

Lazy river was a bit more boisterous than other water parks I have been to, but we just ignored the runners.

That wave pool was something else. Never been in a wave pool with such big waves. You could actually body surf.

Thanks for all the encouragement :D ! We too we were disappointed that BB would be closed & TL open. We have never been to either of the waterparks but for some reason the kids were really looking forward to BB. You guys are letting us know we will still have lots of fun at TL - maybe even more than at BB ;)

We are going in November also and had wanted to see both parks since this will be our first time. Ow well. Problem is everyone says one of the good things about tl is that it is less crowded than bb when both parks are open. If bb is closed are we going to have 2 parks worth of people in one park.
