We'll be doing a water park on Thurs, June 16 and I was wondering if anyone has been to both of these and can compare them for me. Which has more rides and anything else you can think of. My DS's who are 7 and 9 looked up both on the net and Wet and Wild does a better job of listing all the rides which is why I think they want to go to there. I'm leaning more towards TL but I want them to enjoy themselves and not spend the day comparing everything to Wet and Wild. Any info would be appreciated.
Have a great day!! :wave2:

I haven't been to Wet n Wild in a long time, but I admit it has really cool slides. However, nothing beats the theming of Typhoon Lagoon. I absolutely love the lush, tropical feel of it... Wet n Wild is more like a concrete jungle. TL has a sandy beach by the wave pool (which your kids will LOVE, by the way), cool slides and it's surrounded by tropical plants. The lazy river (Castaway Creek) will be your favorite... trust me. You can even swim with sharks! (granted, they are at the bottom and the water is a little cold for my taste, but your kids will love it).

I personally vote for Typhoon Lagoon. Since TL opened, I never went back to Wet n Wild. I don't think your kids will regret it either.

Typhoon lagoon for us too. Last time we went to TL. BB and Wet & Wild but we only went to wet and wild because it was included in our flexi ticket. Just doing the Disney ones this year. Wet and Wild has some good rides but its a bit like a concrete jungle. For atmosphere Disney does it everytime for us.

To me it also depends where you are staying. If you are staying off site and closer to International Drive/Universal Studios, Wet n Wild might make more sense. I believe they have longer operating hours.

Typhoon Lagoon is a great park. With the new water coaster slides, it should be even better. The theming can't be beat. You really don't feel like you are at a waterpark.....well except for the potential crowds.

Never did wet and wild, but just to drive by, it does look like a concrete jungle. Personally for a 7 and 9 YO, I'd vote for BB. THey have a ski camp area with floating icebergs, and to t-bar type thing the kids hang on get "bumped" off of. DD loves it.

BB has more speed slides than TL. TL and BB are themed water parks. Wet and Wild has no theming.

Where are you staying and what kind of park passes do you have? If you're staying on Disney property and/or have some plus passes I'd go with one of the Disney waterparks. If you're staying on International Drive and/or have a flex ticket that includes wet and wild admission I'd go there.

TL wins hands down. Although Wet 'n Wild is a lot of fun and the sldes are great, it cannot beat Disney's theme over at TL. I think the question should actually be whether to go to TL of BB. I know after experiencing TL & BB there's no way I'd want to go back to WnW.

I've been busy the last few weeks with end of year school stuff and the boys activites. I want to thank everyone for their opinions, I really appreciate them. We've decided to do TL and I'm sure we'll have a great time. Only 4 more days till we leave and I'm soooo exicited. :Pinkbounc
