Myself, DS6, DS8 and niece age 14 will be at Disney from July 29 - August 3rd. I have everything planned out and they just told me yesterday they want to do Typhoon Lagoon. I'm trying to figure if it will be a good idea or not to go there about 3 o'clock or not. We could fit it in on Wednesday after MK. We are doing MK 3 days and planning on only staying til 3 or 4 anyways each day. So is it going to be crazy to go at that time or not. Anyone know? We would like to do Gangplank Falls, Crush n Gusher, Keelhaul Falls and Castaway Creek. TL is open til 8 that night. Would you do it or not? I am leaning towards doing it but would like some opinions. Thanks.

We have actually done that a couple of times. They park fills early, but they say to go either early in the day or after 3. I think that if you get there around 3:30-4:00, you should have no problem getting in (they will not let you in if the park is filled-up, which does happen). We did this on our honeymoon a few years back and in the afternoon when it was so hot, we went there for a little while, and then back to the parks at night.

In my experience, going to any of the water parks after 2 or 3 is perfect in the summer. Usually people are starting to leave or the rain has just started and there is a mass-exodus out of the water park. I prefer doing the waterparks as an afternoon break from the rest of the parks.

Thats what I was hoping, that a lot of others would be leaving about then.

I always leave the water parks around 2pm, because I am so freakin' tired by then. Getting there at 9am and going 5 hours wears you out. So many stairs.... I have also found that in late August in rains every afternoon around 3pm, so it's a good time to leave.

Arriving at 3pm should give you a fairly uncrowded visit.

The kids will be so happy that we are going. We have tickets from a few years ago that had the plus feature on them that we didn't use, so at least its not an added expense.
