Typhoon Lagoon in October

Has anyone been this time of year? We will be there the beginning of the month with the FTP and I was wondering if it is possible to go to TL around 2 or 3pm in the afternoon and have enought time to do everything since it closes at 5? Will the crowds have thinned out by then?

Also, is it ever closed in the afternoon in Sept/Oct due to crowds?

Wow,Ocober is popular! We are going Oct.of NEXT year, and wondering the same thing. Dreamin' already....

I don't think it's possible to do everything in a couple of hours at TL especially at the beginning of October. Weather will still be really warm then and I would suspect it to be a bit crowded (well it was when we were there at that time). It's a great park and lots to do, I would give it at least 5 hours to ride all the water rides and hang out in the wave pool.

I have to agree with LoriZH. TL is not a huge park, but you're going to need several hours to do most of it.

I agree that you'll need 4-5 hours to do all the "good stuff"!

So at that time of year when they close at 5, is it really best to get there at opening? Is it still too crowded in the afternoon? Or since it closes early does it start to clear out a little sooner? Oh, and we are thinking about visiting on a monday in case certain days of the week make a difference.

We'ver been in mid to late September for the past few years and have only arrived after noon...the "crowds" we fine, always a place to sit and never a wait for any of the slides. It seems like many people get to the parks first thing then leave early afternoon. The only downside is the chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.
