Typhoon Lagoon - Help Please!

Hello all,

it has been about 7 years since we have visited Typhoon Lagoon. We were last there when DS1 was 4 and DS2 was about 1. It was a very different experience because they are now 9 and 11. We will be with another family of 3. They have a 4 yr daughter.

Wondering where is the best place to sit?
What restaurants would be best to have lunch?
Which is the best water slide?

Any other tip you can share would be of value....

I am staying tuned in. This summer will be our first time to TL ever. We always went to Disney World in February so we didn't do water parks.

The best slide is the water coaster - Crushin Gusher, but the 4-year-old is probably too short to ride it.

Crushin Gusher is the best ride, not really a slide and more a water coaster. Our kids love that ride. There is a height restriction so I am not sure a 4 year old will be tall enough. Other than that, it depends on if you want to go straight down or on a twisting slide. Make sure to do the swimming with the sharks. The water is a little cold, but it's a pretty cool attraction.

There is a smaller children's area to the side of the main beach with the wave pool, I would sit there so you are near the smaller attraction and can still easily get to the others. For food, there are a few walk up places just off the main beach area. Make sure to wear shoes or flip flops to get there as the ground gets very hot in the sun (DS soles actually melted a little).

With that said, I found with a 4 year old that Blizzard Beach was a better option. There is more to do for smaller ones and the wave pool is a bunch of smaller waves. The TL wave pool may be a little much. The waves are very powerful and throw adults around so can be scary and not fun for little ones. The 9 and 11 year olds would prefer TL I am sure.

Hi there! We will be at TL (our first trip to TL) on May 6, and wondered about footwear. Can the kids and I leave our flip flops with our towels wherever we settle, or should they be put in our locker with our phones and other valuables? Thanks for your trip info!

You can leave everything. We have never had an issue with shoes, towels, and the like being left at a chair while in the water parks.

We went in August and from the main walkway we went right and sat by a tree. But close to the wave pool.

If I ever go again, I would go left. It was more shady there.

As for water shoes. We wore them on all the slides...we didn't go on summit plummet or whatever it is called there. I thought I read it wasn't allowed on that.

Summit Plumet is actually at Blizzard Beach, but yes you have to remove your shoes to ride (I just held mine).

I polled our daughters, niece and nephews, ages 4-24 and the first thing they all said was..."Sand Pail Time!"...lol
So, our one piece of advice is to remember to try the BIG Sand Pail full of ice cream, the sprinkles are Mouse ears.

Me and DH love the lazy river to relax.
