Are we going to find anything beyond burgers or pizza at Typhoon Lagoon? Does anyone recommend anything to eat there?

Go to http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm and scroll down until you reach Typhoon Lagoon. There are 10 restaurants there. 2 of which are seasonal.

However, if you mean something on the same quality as Brown Derby of 50s Prime Time Cafe, then your answer is no.

Below are the 3 restaurants that provide something more than just burgers and pizza. Do note however that the last time any of these links were updated was 2004.

Leaning Palms
Offers salads, fruit cups, and PBJ.

Lowtide Lou's (Open Seasonally)
Offers salads, wraps, sandwiches, and fruit.

Typhoon Tilly's (Open Seasonally)
Offers fruit, yogurt, salad, sandwiches, wraps, and BBQ

We like the BBQ Pork sandwich at Typhoon Tilley's. The chicken wrap at Leaning Palms was very good. We have also enjoyed the grilled cheese pretzel (a kid's meal, but we like it & get to make some kid happy by giving away the sand bucket that the meal comes in).

As a breakfast or snack they also have these AMAZING mini donuts. They make them at a stand, you get them fresh, warm and covered in cinnamon and sugar. I think a dozen is like $3 or $4- they are SO good.

They're not just for breakfast anymore :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

YUM!!!!

We were there 2 weeks ago and also snacked on the mini donuts!! They are fabulous! My DH got a chicken caesar salad that he thought was fine. By our 2nd day, I couldn't stomach another hamburger, so I just ate some of the chips & dips we had brought from the room. You can bring coolers with food & drinks.

mmmmm mini donuts........
These are by far the only thing you should look forward to eating at the water parks. They are FANTASTIC!!

DS had the pulled pork & enjoyed it. I had a Mediterranean Tuna Salad which really pleasantly surprised me. I thought I'd be stuck eating junk too, but that salad was really good. I can't for the life of me recall which food place we were at tho. I think it was Leaning Palms?

I thought the pulled pork sandwich was very good. The kids of course always get chicken strips and DH got a some kind of wrap which he said was good.

You can also get lunch to go at several restaurants like Boardwalk Bakery or the Marketplace at BC.

Thank you all!! I feel much better about it now! Can someone describe what the grilled cheese pretzel actually is? We will definately try the donuts! Does anyone know if they are considering a snack on the dining plan?

As best as I can remember the grilled cheese pretzel was either a divided large, soft pretzel or pretzel-type bread with american cheese grilled in between. It comes with a small soft drink & a plastic pail that contains a bag of chips & a plastic shovel. We (2 adults) thought it was pretty tasty. I believe they also have the meal with a small hot dog or peanut butter & jelly instead of the pretzel.

No, the donuts are not considered a snack on the dining plan-but do not miss them, you will make extra trips just to get them, they are probably the best donuts I have ever had. They remind me of cider donuts we get up here in the fall.

:thumbsup2 Our whole gang gets the Grilled Cheese Pretzel kids meal, comes in a sandbucket with shovel, chips and choice of milk, juice or soda. About $4. Totally filling for a meal there. Everyone loves it !! Just what it sounds like, a soft pretzel sliced open with cheese then grilled. Must be a specially designed pretzel because it seems like smaller holes than a regular. Leaves us extra cash for goodies ! Ever since we tried we have been making them at home.

We bring our own picnic. The food at the water parks is bad.

I didn't think the food was bad. I had the chicken wrap at leaning palms and thought it was decent. My son loved his chilli cheese dog. Yes it was junk food, but it made a 9 year old happy.

Mmmmmmm the donuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These were by far the best thing I had on my whole trip. I actually had to send my dd to get the 3rd dozen, I was kind of embarassed I had been there so many times. By the way, they were $6.00 a dozen, and worth every penny! :rotfl:

We've gotten fairly tired of the choices at TL, so what we do now is either to bring subs from Publix, or to break in the middle of the day to eat at DTD, either Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang's Express, usually.
