Help my family decide:

I have a daughter that is 3 1/2 and is just now becoming interested in water. Previously she hated it. We took her to an indoor water park with a kids area and she loved it.

My DSD is 14 and is a fish :) but doesn't like anything crazy scary, but she does do some adventure and risk taking.

DH is also a big lover of water and the thrills. He is interested in swimming with sharks (does that cost more?)

I am not a big water person. I do like the lazy river. I will spend most of my time with my DD in the kiddie and calm areas.

If there is any family rides that she could go on (as a group) at 3 1/2 and about 36 inches let me know that too.

So tell me anything you can that will help. I am pretty much leaving it up to DSD and DH but if I could provide them with as much info that would be great. Are there any youtube videos/books or other sites that detail the water parks??? Anyone have pics?

Thanks...

I would pick BB. The family raft ride alone makes it better, the wave pool is tamer, the Jr area is way cool.

I agree. However, I like TL better, because I think the wave pool is fantastic. But we are all good swimmers, save for DS3. He stays in the kiddie area w/DH or myself while the big kids go play... Of course, the shark thing is really cool too, but you have to do it first thing, otherwise the line gets too long... Given the OP's situation, sounds like BB might be a better fit.

The family raft ride at BB is great! DD went down it when she was just 2. However, I personally think TL is a million times better than BB. I think overall TL is a better water park, is larger, the wave pool is great even if you don't get in it far, and there is so much for both riders and non-riders to do.

I vote for Typhoon Lagoon. In my opinion it is a much more beautiful setting. There's plenty of fun stuff for the kids at either park, so my choice is made because I, the adult, prefer to sip my margarita in a more tropical setting!

Lush tropical scenery, tons of flowering plants, palm trees and steel drum/beach boys music at Typhoon, whereas at Blizzard they're trying to make it look like a ski hill... pine trees, white-painted concrete to look like snow, skis stuck in the ground, christmas music.

When I vacation I like that tropical feeling while I float the lazy river. Typhoon's lazy river is beautiful! Blizzard is really impressive, a great water park, and amazingly themed. But coming from the north, I prefer the relaxing and beautiful theme of the tropics!

Ahhh. I wish I were there right now.... ! :sunny:
