I see that TL is closed for rehab (from the link in the space mountain thread). We are planning to go there in May, as we went to BB on our last trip, and honestly...DH will only tolerate ONE water park per trip, and I usually like going back to the main parks more often....

So, are they doing anything specific/new/exciting? It has been since 1994 since I have been at TL. I really liked it, and I like BB as well. Just curious.

And for bonus points, which one is better for a toddler.

I don't know about anything new, we have only been once this summer. We went to both water parks in Sept. BB seemed to have a larger toddler area, but my just turned 3 year old DD preferred TL. She couldn't get enough of the wave pool. She loved the occasional big waves as opposed to the constant smaller waves. She also preferred the family water slide at TL to BB. BB's family slide (sorry I forget the name) went up on it sides alot, and she prefered the spinning and waterfalls at TL's family slide.

Well I don't know if you want to call new but the wave pool in TL is getting a much needed overhaul. They tore the whole thing up and are laying new concrete which is why it is in rehab until March 21. They are also rehabbing the equipment for it too. Other than that there is nothing new going on with TL except maybe new paint throughout the park like they do every year.

If you haven't been to TL since'94, then the big new thing will be Crusher Gusher! It is a water roller coaster.....you ride on a single or multi ride inflated tube. There are 3 seperate courses to try. It is awesome! We had a blast when we were there last April. :thumbsup2

As for toddler, I think I would prefer TL as it smaller in overall size. Plenty to do with little one and maybe some added stuff with the rehab.

About how much time should you plan on spending at a water park? I have never been to one in my life and the boys want to go to TL.

How old are the boys? Do they like fun in the water? I wold plan at least half a day, but probably a whole one if they are having fun.

Sorry. I am the only girl in the family so my boys are 29 and 13 years old. The 29 year old is a giant child.

Well, it's Disney, where giant children reign! My boys are 11,14 and 18 and I'm older than the 3 of them combined, but I can still beat them to the head of the line!

Have fun!

When my dd was 2, she much preferred BB. TL just has the one kiddie area, and it was overrun with bigger kids, spraying each other, etc. They really weren't doing anything "wrong", but they were just too crazy for little ones.

At BB, there are two kids areas. Tike's Peak was all about the toddlers, and the bigger kids didn't go there because they had the ski patrol training camp.

I don't remember a difference in BB's family raft ride versus TL's as far as going up the sides, but we were disappointed in how short TL's is. BB's is much, much longer.

We haven't done TL. We are planning on it for our trip in September. We did BB last time with a 3,5,7,8 and 11 year old...and of course the biggest child of all - DH 43. They all loved it and we definitely needed the full day but we were a big group.

Although Crush 'n Gusher is AWESOME, I would have to say that we preferred BB over TL. I thought BB was way better for little ones in my opinion!
I'm glad to have tried both though. I think if we had a chance to go back, it would be to BB.
