Typhoon Lagoon - Anyone else get bruised?

MY DS who was about 10 at the time got hit by a big guy, probably over 300 lbs who was slammed into him by a wave, which really hurt DS back years ago..Those waves are very powerful, even if you can swim (which he could and well), you have to watch for big bodies coming at you too...

My troop is so psyc'ed about a real water park, and mosthave decided on my fav...TL. I have laready issued a challenge...$10 for every time they get hit by a wave and stay onthier feet...really drove it home about how powerful the waves will be. Can't wait!

That is exactly what happened to my sister in 1996. She was sitting in the shallow end and she got knocked backwards by a wave and she scratched her back pretty bad on the bottom. We had no idea that the waves there were so strong!!

Wow, I guess I really am not the only one then! I still have a huge oozing bruise on my lower back that I pray doesn't become a scar. I filled out my unofficial guide survey, and added a note about how great TL is, yet to tell your readers not to sit at the edge of the wave pool.

Everyone who reads this, please take the advice. Sit outside of the water or stand up way before the wave comes. I'm an excellent swimmer and very strong, and was only in about 5 inches of water at the time.
