Does anyone know if the H20 Glow at Typhoon Lagoon sells out? We are going in August and I am afraid to book too early. Plus what happens if it rains? I am assuming no refunds, correct? Appreciate anyone's thoughts and comments. I'd love to even hear whether it's worth it or not. Thanks so much!

I haven't been able to find any stats but do know that yes, some (and possibly all?) parties will sell out.

We went last August. Unfortunately, within ten minutes of the party starting, rain and thunder swept in. I live in S. FL, so I am quite familiar with bad weather. But this was not a quick storm. We all had to take shelter in the gift shop for well over an hour until they finally called off the party. It was a mess.

Disney automatically issued a free water park day in everyone's MDE account. However, I did not deem this sufficient since the party costs more than a one-day visit. I had to visit Guest Services the next day to get a full refund.

I have to say I would hesitate to ever do an After Hours event at a Disney water park during the summer/rainy months. It was miserable being stuck in a gift shop elbow-to-elbow with others as we awaited news. The rain and thunder were intense, so it was not safe to simply leave.

Disney also needs to do better with providing shelter spaces for people during thunderstorms. It was a nightmare trying to catch a bus back to the resort in that weather. We were all stuck standing under trees in the parking lot, the one place you are always told not to be during an electrical storm.

*They do not cancel for rain. So do not expect a refund for rain. They only cancel if there is thunder for a certain amount of time (who knows what that is).

Wow, so sorry you had this experience! It is exactly what I am trying to avoid. I am not a fan of close quarters with strangers in a thunderstorm. Sounds horrible. Plus dealing with the bus situation sounds like a complete nightmare. You make an excellent point about needing safer locations for sheltering in place. I also agree that what Disney offered didn't exactly meet expectations as far as a refund. Glad you were able to get a full reimbursement.
I was really looking forward to possibly going but you are giving me some pause. Since it's just my husband and I, I will take my chances and wait until it gets a lot closer so I can be somewhat confident the weather will be nice.
Again, so sorry you had such a horrible experience. Thank you so much for your detailed response. It is really appreciated!

Depending on when you are going, the weather becomes more of a challenge. Jun - Sep have significant amounts of rain annually. That being said, many times it's a storm that blows in for a while and then leaves. A bigger challenge can be the lightning as the water parks will close while it's still dry if there is lightning in the area.

EDIT: I quoted wrong post. This is for the OP.

You're welcome. It is not my intention to scare you away from the event. I just wish they offered it more in spring and fall when you have higher chances of better weather.

The problem is these events do often sell out in advance, and then you are at the whim of Mother Nature. The annoying thing was bad weather wasn't even forecasted that night. Everything showed it clearing up in time. Moving forward, I will stick with traditional entry and have a "plan b" day if the first day has bad weather. I also recommend going at opening as thunderstorms often roll in during the afternoon.

Years ago, long before H2Glow, (maybe 2006) they had evening emh at Typhoon Lagoon. We did it twice. The one night it rained and the other was great! So weather-wise you just never know.

We attended it last year, on July 2, which ended up being a sold out night. We had a great time and the weather cooperated, but I wouldn't want to go on a sold out night again. We waited in lines for most of the slides, and I didn't expect the changing rooms to be so crowded. It was nice to experience Typhoon Lagoon at night though, and we plan on going again in either late May or late August, when the crowds shouldn't be quite as bad.

I was coming on to ask about this event as a solo guest. But July 1-5 are my dates, and I thought those were likely to be sold out dates ☹️ I have been wanting to attend for a few years, but it doesn’t sound like this will be the year.

I think you can still have a good time, but just need to level set your expectations.

Is it buggy? I know it's Florida, but wondered if it was noticeable at night.

I’m the first to get bit. My husband and son rarely get bit. I think there’s more chance of getting bit waiting for a bus. No see ums are always a problem, even in the daytime. Mosquitoes are attracted to water.
