Has anyone been to Typhoon Lagoon and swam with those sharks at Shark Reef?(I think thats the name of it) Anyway, it looks real cool on my planning dvd sent from Disney, but am I crazy for wanting to do this?? Has anyone got in there with those fish and stingrays?? Need input please!!!!!

what do you mean by "those fish" ?? its only baby white tip sharks and since i'm a scuba diver, let me tell you they wont do ANYTHING....i suppose they are proppaly feeded and i dont think you will try do hold on to them to swim with them so dont be afraid..same with stingrays....they are used to the masses of people watching them anyway...so dont worry about it.

It is a fun thing to do when at TL. I've done it loads of time and it's definitely worth giving it a go.

The baby sharks are below a perspex layer so they can't harm you - the fish are all swimming in and out though.

You'll find all ages doing it - my kids love it. Be warned, because of the fish, the water is freezing compared to the lagoon - but you soon get used to it and they give you a wetsuit waistcoat which helps.

Swimming with the sharks was cool, I loved it. I never noticed how cold the water is, for some reason I did not think it was all that cold. But lots of people say it is, so I would prepare for it being cold. Only equiptment I got though was snorkle and mask.

How many times can you do this? Is there usually a line? How long do you actually get to swim with the fish? Can you take a waterproof disposable camera with you?

Thanks in adavance for the answers.

Your experience will depend on how crowded it is when you go. The last time we went (at the end of June 2004) we were rushed through, and I got kicked in the face several times because it was so crowded.

I've done this a couple of times and enjoyed it. I think the best time to do it is when the park opens and you go directly there, to avoid the long lines. Be prepared for the very chilly water (& I'm from New England so I'm used to very cold ocean water). Be sure to get a snorkel that fits snugly. The last time I did this mine didn't and I thought I'd drown inside my mask! Kind of takes the fun out of seeing the beautiful fish under you. Take a waterproof camera if you like. Our pictures came out very nice and colorful.

My DD first did this when she was 7 and loved it! We go in March so it's usually not very crowded and she and DH can go through a couple of times.
