Okay ladies, I would like to do an autograph scrapbook for DS and DD for our upcoming trip. I am new to the world of scrapbooking and have been reading things here and there to get started. I would like these books to be really nice, since I'm not sure when our next trip will be- actually looking at it like this is my only shot to get it right. I don't have tons of money or time to spend on these before we go (leaving Oct 1).

So here's what I was thinking- I would purchase the books and extra pages/protectors now and get the autographs, then finish the books when I get home over time (keep in mind I am starting from scratch here). I've been looking at scrapbooks and my head is spinning!! This is where I need some help. I DO know that I don't want to go bigger than an 8x8. Would you recommed top or side loading pages? If I bought something covered in cloth, could I redecorate it somehow? I want these to be durable and last for quite some time. I have looked at some Disney books and that thought crossed my mind, until I see the prices (ouch!)! Although, scrapbookingwarehouse.com seems a bit better in that area. Saw a Disney book there that would be good for DS and is reasonable, but is side loading. I'm wondering if I bought some top loading pages if they would fit? :scratchin Does Michaels carry the Disney books? (thinking coupon here, LOL!) I didn't find anything online and the closest one is an hour away, but with the coupons coming out, I could get my hands on a few of those and take someone with me! I may head out later to do some grocery shopping- are there any good scrapbook magazines out that I could pick up?

Can any of you sb experts here help me with some suggestions, please? :)

Creative Memories has a 7*7 Mickey Album that is guaranteed for life! They cost $25 but are well worth it. You can add extra pages to them and buy the page protectors to go over the pages when you have completed them. The covers wipe off with a damp cloth. I am actually not taking my kid's book with us but making little tags for the characters to sign and then I will put those in their books with a picture of them.

What size tags are you making to take? That sounds like a great idea! I was thinking of buying the small cardstock spiral albums from Michaels to use ( I think they are regularly 7.99) and then cut out the signatures to go in the photo album.

That's what I would do: have the characters autograph something else, then scrap those autographs into the pages. That way you can place the autographs instead of having to place things around them. :)

The spiral notebook sounds perfect!

What great ideas!!! I will have to look into that. Thanks!

mcdisney2005- CM must be what my neighbor is selling. She never told me the name of the company, but she did mention the 7x7 Mickey album.

Keep the ideas coming ladies! I have a feeling that I am slowly going to be sucked into the scrapbooking addiction (not that that's bad or anything)! :rotfl:
