Tyler: MGM to Epcot Resorts?

This has come up before but I don't remember the answer.

I know there is ordinarily no bus service between Epcot resorts and MGM.
But how about after Fantasmic? Are there special buses then?
It seems to me the boats can't possibly handle the demand, and walking is not an option for everyone. (It's not a problem for me.) It just doesn't seem right to force most Epcot resort guests to walk.

Most of the time on our Fantasmic night, we schedule a late dinner at one of the Epcot resorts, and we have ALWAYS gotten a boat, even after taking our time lingering in the Fantasmic stadium and slowly wandering through the shops as we exit the Studios.

So don't worry about getting a boat over to the Epcot resorts after Fantasmic.

You've got to remember, the folks actually using the Epcot resort boats is a very small percentage of the folks in the Fantasmic stadium.

I would bet that 60% of the folks in the Fantasmic Stadium are parked in the parking lot or using offsite buses, another 35% are heading to other WDW resorts, and then maybe 5% will be using the boats, so at max 500 people would be heading for the boats.

I suppose you're right, Carol. I keep thinking that there are 4500 rooms in the Epcot resorts, which may hold 10-15 thousand guests on a given night, and that a lot of them will be at Fantasmic. And what is the capacity of the boats? Surely only one or two hundred.

But I've never actually tried to take the boat. When we stay at an Epcot resort, we drive to MGM for Fantasmic! Maybe enough others do this that the demand on the boats is reasonable. It would be nice to just hop on a bus instead.

Although there are long lines, the boats have large capacities, and run more frequently during the park exit. They seem to handle the load just fine.

The only problem, is they shut down 60 mins after the park closes. It doesn't matter if there are people still waiting at the dock, they will shut down. When they shut down, we offer bus service to those folks that do not wish to walk. I personally do not agree with this... not that I mind taking folks over, but I think the boats should run a bit longer.
