I am stay at Boardwalk in May. I have read many times the groceries stores people use, but I have never stumbled on clear directions on how do get to these stores. Could you please direct this directionally impared person to the grocery store closest to the Boardwalk Villas. Your help or anyones would be greatly appreciated.

The closest and most convenient supermarket would be one that delivers! The folks on the DVC Community board have lots of experience with this, and can recommend a couple of them. I believe that Goodings will deliver (www.goodings.com) and there is a service called wegoshop (www.wegoshop.com) that gets good reviews.

Otherwise, you can always get a cab (my solution, since we plan to use Magical Express once it starts), or if you have a car there, the nice folks at the valet desk are ahppy to give you good directions. When in Fla, I tend to be brand-loyal to Publix, the nearest of which was about a 10 min drive.

Good luck!

Last February we used a nice new Publix over by the Premium Outlet Mall.

It was VERY easy to get to. Here are the directions:

Exit the Disney complex on Hotel Plaza Blvd (Lake Buena Vista) to 535, turning right on 535. (this has you going past DtD and the DtD hotels)

Drive under I-4, turning left at the first light after you cross under I-4. This should be Vineland Ave.

Continue on Vineland Ave, past the outlet stores (nice center) and follow the signs to Publix.

My only caveat would be to NOT try to hit this Publix on a Sunday morning, as this route takes you directly by the Mary, Queen of the Universe shrine, and I would imagine the traffic could get VERY dicey.

There is a small strip mall next to the Publix that has a UPS store, and just past the Publix there is also a Walgreen's pharmacy which we also had to use.

There is also a Publix very close on 192, take World Drive to exit WDW and get on 192 East, you will cross I-4 and it will be on your left at a stoplight just after you cross under I-417. It is next to a Walgreens. Not sure if this is any closer than the one Debbie mentioned, but you avoid the DTD area totally. We usually go to the grovery store the evening of our first day, and in the evenings you really want to avoid the DTD area. 192 is fairly empty in comparison.

We like the Winn-Dixie. Go past Downtown Disney onto Hotel Resorts Blvd. Make a left at the light across from Crossroads (535). It's about a mile down the road on the right, next to ABC Liquor.

Thanks for everyones directions. I've printed them and put them in my planner. DebbieB thanks for the info about the ABC store my DH has found that particularly helpful. :earsboy:

Okay... here is MY personal suggestion. This is the Publix on the corner of 192 and South International Drive, near the Gaylord Palms. It is the closest grocery store to the Boardwalk. If you hit every light, it'll only take you 15 minutes.

When you exit the Boardwalk, take a RIGHT.
At the traffic light, make a LEFT onto Buena Vista Drive. Get into the right most lane.
At the next light (you'll see Reedy Creek on the left), make a RIGHT onto Victory Way. You'll pass Pop Century.
At the next light (You'll see Wide World of Sports), make a LEFT onto Osceola Parkway. Stay in the right most lane.
At the second traffic light (intersection of Gaylord Palms) take a RIGHT onto South International Drive.
Stay in the left most lane. As soon as you go under the overpass, there will be a Publix on your left.

To get back:
Take a RIGHT out of Publix onto S. Int'l Drive, and get in the leftmost lane.
At the traffic light (Gaylord Palms) make a LEFT onto Osceola Parkway.
Once you pass through the archways, get into the right most lane.
At the traffic light (Wide World of Sports) make a RIGHT.
When you get to the Reedy Creek station, make a LEFT onto Buena Vista Drive
At the next traffic light, make a RIGHT onto Epcot Resorts Blvd.
Make a LEFT into Disney's Boardwalk.

Tyler, is there any grocery's on the way to Orange LAke from As Movies? And how would I get there? Hey, thanks for being so helpful. We're lucky to have you. Donna

Yes... there is a Publix over there as well. It's on the way to Orange Lake from the All Stars, right on 192.

Thanks to all who responded. I've printed out directions and hopefully I won't get lost. Tyler thanks for your responce, your my hero! :earsboy:
