I actually live quite close to the Opryland Hotel and Opry Mills Mall. We left on that Sunday night at 9:30 pm (me two big dogs and my 16 yr old son) with nothing but the clotehes on our back because the water was rising so QUICKLY...we spent the night in my office...did not know of any where we could go that would take the big dogs like ours...when I saw pictures of Opryland Hotel Monday afternoon, I almost got physically sick...I was not very hopeful that we would escape the water. We went back to the house about 7:30 Monday evening to find that we were extremely blessed...our house stayed dry. (We are litereally 5 houses away from major flooding! ) Things will not be back to normal in the area for quite a while. I am not a TN native, so I am not real sure where Monterey is...I will have to ask...It is a beautiful state though!

Oh my goodness. Bless your hearts! I can understand taking your dogs with you to your office. I often wonder if something happens what will happen with my Ratties. I always try to take them with me when I know there is going to be bad weather. One time my cousin took her pugs into walmart during a really bad storm and they told her she was welcome to. What a Blessing to be able to return home to a dry house. Monterey I believe is near Cookeville if that helps? lol I know that is a small place.
Yes it is a very pretty state. We go to Gatlinburg quite a bit. As well as Cookeville. I love it down there.
