We have spent the past 2 years looking forward to, and planning our trip. We picked November for the temps and less rain than w had on our Sept trip in '07.

In comes Hurrican Ida. I have been watching it this week and It doesn't look like it is going to make landfall. Being from the middle of the country, I don't know if that means we are going to get rained on all week.

What should we expect? I really don't want to deal with all the rain, again. Bring on the sun!!! Happy thoughts, happy thoughts........

Oh I'm feeling the same way. Frustrated because we cant move our trip. I'm hoping that the plane wont be delayed either. We will fly right through all of that as we are coming from Tx. But, I have been tracking the weather on weather.com and its making me happy to see only a 40% chance as of now for the max.

I hope you guys have great trips and aren't affected by this. Just know that some of our best days at Disney have been rainy ones--low crowds, no blazing sun baking you, etc. Just bring an extra set of shoes in case yours get wet, and some ponchos, and enjoy! Disney will be fun no matter what the weather!!

Hoping you have awesome weather...we are going in 18 days...maybe you will be okay...Orlando isnt on the coast, so maybe it wont get hit to bad.

It looks like Hurricane Ida is visiting my area ( Florida Panhandle) this week so those of you with Disney trips I wouldn't worry too much. Go and enjoy yourself, and buy ponchos before you go. If the storm turns that way Disney WILL take care of you.

The first year we went to Disney, there was a hurricane off the coast. It never hit the parks but it was great. The parks were empty with overcast skies. It did rain a few times but quick, normal Florida bursts. I hope you have the same luck!

We were at WDW when a hurricane blew right through kissimmee. To tell the truth it only impacted one day of our trip, the actual day of the hurricane. On that day we did not venture anywhere as the storm was incredible. We watched it snap palm trees and pour so hard safely from our hotel window at the JW Marriott. The hotel staff was great though, they set up special kid activities that were not originally on the schedule b/c of the storm. The next day was a beautiful park day along with the rest of our week!! Go and enjoy!!

My very first trip to WDW in Sept 2000 we got hit by a hurricane. I think it was just a tropical storm by the time it hit Orlando, but it was still very rainy and windy. We just spent that day shopping at the outlets and checking things out. The next day we were back at the parks and it was nice and sunny and hot again. Hope your trips are wonderful and the hurricane stays FAR away!

I hope you have a great trip. I don't really know much about hurricanes, but I didn't think November was hurricane season. We are leaving in just under 2 weeks. Hope its gone by then.:thumbsup2

We arrived at WDW the day after Charlie hit - they had the parks and resorts cleaned up and open!

Hurricane Ida is supposed to come ashore as a Cat 1 hurricane Tuesday morning. It should be hitting us up here in the panhandle. The thing about hurricanes is that they tend to gather all the moisture around them so hopefully you guys will see sunny days. Though central Florida could really use the rain right now. My suggestion would be to have ponchos on hand at all times. You just never know with these storms. It could turn at the last minute and go towards Disney.

We went to disney when hurricane Faye hit Florida in August 08. We had lots of rain, it wasnt to bad, at least we were at Disney

Dang I need to get off these boards and check the news. I had no idea there was a hurricane anywhere near here :lmao:

We were there theday after a hurricane 5 years or so ago. We didn't experience any delay, damage or much rain. Hope you will be so lucky.

This storm is projected to go into pensacola as a cat1. It shouldn't effect anyone's disney vacation with more than perhaps a little rain, and even that is a long shot. My advice is not to panic about it. it should not effect you unless something changes drasicaly in the next day or so. Even here, about 50 miles from the projected center we are not really expecting anything major. This is a minimal storm. even right in the path the damage will be minimal. Most with be back to normal in a day or so.
