Hi! I was wondering if anyone here has heard of any Disney brides who have worn two wedding dresses? I'm thinking of possibly doing this (one for the ceremony and the other for the reception), but I'm not sure yet. I just want to see if anyone has done it before at Disney and if so, if they've written about their experience--good or bad?? Thanks alot!! :)

I had my wedding at the Swan so it was a bit different. I wore my wedding dress to my ceremony and cake reception afterwards. I then changed into a much simpler white 'party' dress for dinner at Ohana' later in the evening. We stayed at the Swan so it wasn't difficult to go back to our room. Also, we had about 2 hours before we had to meet back with the guests at Ohana'.

My concern with having 2 dresses would be with what type of wedding you have planned. You might not have time to go somewhere to change before your reception.

I'm going to be changing, but we made sure to set it up so I could get back to our hotel easily. Going between SBP and Ariels, a stop at the Beach Club Villas won't be hard!

Thanks for the feedback! ColeV, I wish you the best for your wedding day. I am seriously thinking of wearing two dresses--I know it seems a bit selfish, but I really like the idea of having more of a "princess" like dress for Cindy's coach, and a more fitted dress for the reception. How are your dresses? :goodvibes

My sister had a brilliant idea for her May 2010 wedding. She has a beautiful lace dress for the ceremony and she has a green sash that she is adding for the reception (it matches her bridesmaids).

I can't explain it- but somehow that little sash makes it look like a completely different dress! It's like seeing it for the first time- I cant' wait for everyone to be surprised at her reception- and it's a pretty inexpensive way to make a nice change.

I have two dresses! My ceremony dress is very princess-y and HUGE so to dance in it would be insane, so I got a second dress for the reception.

Ooooh, that's where I'm planning on having my ceremony and reception next September! Can't wait to see your pics of Ariel's. :)

My daughter is getting married at the wedding pavilion beach in October. She chose a BIG, poofy princess style Maggie Sotterro dress with a train. She will also wear it to her reception at Ariels. After thinking it over, she got a second dress for her dessert party that night. She still wanted to look like the bride, so she chose a more fitted, lace dress and ordered it with no train. I think she will have a much easier time not putting back on her gown with the lace up back and train 6 hours after the reception ends.

flowerbelle, I think I'm changing for about the same reason as everyone else! My first gown isn't big, but it has a draped piece that attaches to my back and makes a huge train when walking. The second gown is going to be a 1930s style silver silk lamé much better for dancing (and just plain fun!). I'm actually building both of them, so hopefully pictures will be around in July or August of the finished products!

kimmers127, it's a beautiful location, isn't it? We managed to sneak inside a couple weeks ago (the gate was unlocked). It seems much larger in person, but the character is great!
