Two way radios

My brother says that they won't allow two way radios in the park any more but i read on allearsnet that they did allow them. We just got new ones with a 6 mile radius, should we take them or leave them. Would hate to get to the gate and have to go back to the car.

We took them in late Nov./early December so if there has been a change in policy, it has been very recently.

We took ours this past May. If they are still allowed, I would say take them. Although they might not come in the best at all spots, there were times we really liked using them. We are taking ours again in Feb., so it would be interesting to find out the real policy.

We were there the week between Christmas and New Years. We used ours, no problem bringing them in. The only problem you may have will be with people on the same frequency as you. We had to keep changing, to avoid accidentally "eavesdropping" on other's conversations. (Please be careful what you say on them: my DD "overheard" a pretty lengthy conversation at the Swan......coming from MGM........as she was trying to contact my DH )
All in all though, they do come in handy.

I had the funniest experience with my radio last year. I wasn't too savvy on the first day with my radio manners so I "called" my DH and said "Hey hon are you there? Come in?" A male voice replied "yea, it's me, where are you?" I responded with my location and he said "on my way" so of course I was waiting but didn't see my DH coming. A few min. later my DH calls me and says "Hey, I'm at space mt. and I'm on my way out, where do you want to meet?", then I realized I had not been talking to DH the first time! After that we always identified ourselves by first name!
