Two Very Merry Un-Birthdays - Feb 2010 (Updated 8/9)

That was a crazy day in MK... :scared: I remember us texting and being on the lookout for you!

I'm really excited for Friday -- when we were on the train coming back from the Bruins game last night, I was telling Charles I was going to meet up with you after work. He asked where and I told him and he said, "isn't that on the green line?" I said yes and he made a face :rotfl: We'll need to take a picture or two to post on our reports!

My mom asked if I'd talked to you recently because she said that she heard Rhode Island is also getting slammed with rain. It has been raining nonstop and it's not supposed to stop till Wednesday. I think by the time it stops we'll have gotten another six inches. Luckily it is supposed to be gorgeous here on Friday!

It really was a crazy day! It's not usually that crowded in February!

Ewww green line! :rotfl: I'll have to go on the green line to get there and back Friday and again on Saturday! And for two Red Sox games in the next few weeks! :scared1: Yes we definitely need pictures :goodvibes Oh, don't be surprised if my cousin looks like Velma from Scooby Doo because she's dressing up as her for the convention :rotfl: I have no idea why, because Scooby Doo isn't anime, but the when we were there last year she regretted not having a costume and this was the easiest costume she could think of :rotfl2:

Ugh, it's INSANE! We're getting sooooo much rain! The governor declared a state of emergency :scared1: A lot of RI schools got dismissed early today because of flooding. A couple main roads in my town are flooded. Our school had a few leaks and they had to put sandbags down because water was coming in one of the doors and it would've flooded the hallway. I think we're one of the only houses in town that doesn't have a flooded basement. Apparently there's a 24 hour waiting list to get your basement pumped

I'm soooo sorry I haven't updated in so long! I promise I'll post a real update sometime this week, hopefully tomorrow!

This is going back a few weeks, but I had a very fun DIS meet with Meghan(Megablocks) the Friday before Easter. I was in Boston with my cousin and Meg met us at the mall. We went and got something to eat at the food court and somehow ending up sitting there talking about random stuff for 2 hours  It was awesome! I'm glad we live so close. We can have lots of DIS meets

My spring break was last week and I was being really, really lazy :rotfl: I didn't get much done, but I did get my permit! I was driving around in the school parking lot with my dad a few times last week. Then I went with my mom on Friday. I thought she'd be panicking but she was fine  I drove outside of the parking lot for the first time yesterday. I drove around my neighborhood, which is good because it's not very busy. I actually did better in my neighborhood than in the parking lot.

On Sunday I went to a Red Sox game with my dad. The Sox lost but we still had an awesome time. We had amazing seats and it was still a really good game. I'm going to another Sox game with my mom on Mother's Day. It's so cool to go to two games so close together! I paid about 2/3 of the price for Sunday's tickets with my Christmas money and my mom gave us the rest as a late birthday present for my dad. My mom bought next week's tickets as a birthday present for her and for me :) Her birthday is tomorrow(the 29th) and mine is Friday(the 30th) :dance3:

I'll be back with some pictures from the game and the DIS meet later this week! Have a good Thursday!!!

Yay!! So glad you did a little update! I've been super lazy with my report as well, it is going to get completed but my stupid class is interfering :rolleyes1

Is it bad that even though our pictures are going to be nearly identical, I can't wait to see yours? That was such a fun meet!

Hi! I'm glad you posted that update...I kept checking your report & was starting to worry about you! Glad everything is ok! I know what you mean...I have been having some "lazy days" myself. I've just been sooo incredibly busy recently that I needed some time to unwind & just relax! I think everyone needs some free time to just do nothing every now & then! :goodvibes

That is so awesome that you live so close to Meghan & are able to meet! I did read about the meeting already on her report! Isn't that amazing how you can just sit & talk about various things for hours? I recently met up with a friend I haven't seen in over 7 years & we just talked & talked & talked!!! LOL

Congrats on getting your permit!

The Red Sox games sound fun!!! I didn't go to any baseball games the last 2 years, but I definitely want to go this year. I know, the Pirates stink! lol I miss the Pirates from the early 90's...thats when I used to go with my dad to games, it was so much fun! I love baseball, but I also love the food at the games! The fish they have in Pittsburgh is delicious & I always get ice cream & nachos! Yum!

Also, Happy Birthday early to both you & your mom!!!!! :bday:

School is always in the way! Don't teachers know that we need DIS time?! MeMom definitely does ;)

Nope  I was excited when I saw yours too!

Lazy days are great :thumbsup2 I definitely needed them!

I looooove going to Red Sox games!!!! I've only been to 3, but I wasn't really a sports fan until about 2 and a half years ago.

Happy birthday Christine!! :cake: :dancer: party: :bday:

Thank you!!!!

So, I was fully intending on updating over the weekend but...MY INTERNET WAS DOWN :scared1: It didn't come back until Sunday night, and then on Tuesday when I finally had a free afternoon, it was down again!!!!!!! It was partially because of that stupid computer. But....I FINALLY GOT MY LAPTOP BACK  I had a warranty so they were able to fix it for free. They would've given me a new one if they couldn't fix it, but I'm glad I got mine back. I love my laptop and I didn't want to have to transfer files and reconnect the internet and all that stuff.

Our birthdays were fun :) They were uneventful because our main birthday event is the Sox game this weekend, but we did have a small cookout with some of our family on Sunday :goodvibes

I went to the dentist today. That was fun  I HATE going to the dentist. I had to have three cavities filled. One of them was already filled before but the filling came out a few weeks ago. The other two were small. One was so small that the dentist said I probably wouldn't need novacaine. I agreed because I hate having a needle poke my gums more times than necessary, but I wish I had taken the novacaine :rotfl: It hurt!!! It wasn't unbearable, but I would've rather had the novacaine.

Now that I have my nice fast computer back :worship: I can catch up on a few TR's and then I'll put up my Red Sox and DIS meet pictures!

Here are two pictures from my DIS meet with Megablocks! I have a third picture that I took but I surprised Meg and my cousin with the camera and they're bothing blinking and they both have their mouths open :rotfl: I'm being nice and not posting that one :rotfl2:

First...the drink. Meg, you should remember the drink  We all got food from different places in the food court and my cousin went to a Chinese place. They only had one size drink and...IT WAS HUGE!!!!! It was like twice the size of mine and I think it cost less. We were there for two hours and she couldn't finish it :rotfl:

It was such a fun DIS meet!!! We need to do it again soon Meg :thumbsup2

And here are some pictures from the Red Sox game I went to with my dad.

Very good game even though the Sox lost! We had awesome seats and we had fun :goodvibes

Thanks for not posting that picture of us...:lmao: Very nice of you, indeed!

That drink was ridiculous! At least you know you're not getting gypped when they say there's only one size, right? That was SO much fun! You definitely need to let me know when you are going to be in Boston next so we can plan to meet up!

Hello to any readers that I have left! I think it's just Meg at this point :rotfl: I'm FINALLY doing a real update after this post! I'm sooooo sorry I haven't had a real TR update in so long. I've been so busy with school and other stuff and any time I haven't been busy I've been too tired to get off the couch :rotfl: Once the summer starts I'll have lots of DIS time! I only have 17 days of school left

My mom and I had a great time at the Sox game on Mother's Day. The Sox beat the Yankees 9-3 :yay: I'll have pictures from that soon too.

On Saturday I went bowling with my best friend and two of our other friends for her birthday. I felt so bad because we played 5 games and she didn't win any of them  At one point we were tied and it was the last turn and I told her I'd try to knock down less pins than her so she could win...She ended up only knocking over 1 pin. I was like "Oh come on! I can't get less than 1! You're not making this easy!" :rotfl:

And now I'm finally gonna do a real TR update :dance3:

So when I left off(a looong time ago :rolleyes1) we had just been to the Haunted Mansion. After that we decided to head to the TTA since we were sure that it wouldn't have CRAZY lines like everything else did that day. We walked through Fantasyland and as you can imagine based on the lines for Pirates and the Haunted Mansion, the lines were INSANE!!!!

Disney2010058.jpg

That's the only picture I took on the way through Fantasyland. I was pretty bad at remembering to take pictures the first day because I was so excited

When we reached Tomorrowland we stopped for a minute so my mom could make a phone call. I took pictures while I waited.

Disney2010059.jpg

I can't believe I've never been on this!

Disney2010060.jpg

Disney2010061.jpg

Disney2010062.jpg

CopyofDisney2010063.jpg

Surprisingly, there was a line for TTA. Not a long one, but I couldn't believe it  They had us wait at the bottom. I think they stopped the ride for a minute to let a handicapped person on or something. While we waited I took a picture of this guy. I don't think I ever really noticed him before.

CopyofDisney2010064.jpg

I think I took this one while we were in line too

Disney2010065.jpg

After about two minutes, we were let on the TTA. I love this ride, but I miss the old narration. I don't like the new guy very much :sad2:

Here are some pictures I took while riding. I could've sworn I had a candid picture of my mom here but maybe that's later in the trip :scratchin

Continued in next post!

I'm waiiiiiiiiting :rotfl2:

If you want to alert people that you updated, you can edit the thread title -- just go to your first post, hit "edit," then click "go advanced" and you can edit the title to let people know there's an update!

Thanks for the text that the first part is up; I'm gonna go read now...

Small side note: I just noticed something while looking through the pictures on photobucket. My pictures get better as the trip goes on. Maybe it just took me a while to get used to my camera...which I've had for 3 years. I just figured out how to use some of the settings right before the trip

Anyway, after we rode TTA, we went over to the Carousel of Progress. I know some people don't like it, but I looove it. My mom loves it too but she was falling asleep during it because we had gotten up so early. The same thing happened last year  After that we realized it was almost time to use our Jungle Cruise fastpasses!

We walked through here

Disney2010074.jpg

and took the train to Frontierland. I've always liked riding that train. It's just fun and relaxing and I love it! :cloud9:

I took a picture of the Contemporary as we passed it.

Disney2010075.jpg

My mom isn't crazy about it, but I'd like to stay there some day.

While we were at the Main Street station I spotted two chipmunks :goodvibes

Disney2010076.jpg

Disney2010077.jpg

We got off at the Frontierland station and headed this way to visit some wild animals!

Disney2010078.jpg

We had a great skipper. He was picking on my mom a little bit :rotfl: When he told everyone to duck, my mom didn't do it. He asked her if she was paralyzed by fear :lmao: Then towards the end when we had to duck again, she did it and he said "Oh good! I'm glad to see that you're not paralyzed by fear anymore!"

Disney2010079.jpg

Do you guys want to see something really cool?!

It's the back side of water!

Disney2010080.jpg

Disney2010081.jpg

I love this guy.

CopyofDisney2010082.jpg

We made it out of the jungle alive, walked past the Tiki Room

CopyofDisney2010083.jpg

and then noticed that the Aladdin ride had a 15 minute wait. We figured it wouldn't be shorter than that any other time so we took advantage of it and went on a magic carpet ride :upsidedow

I took these while waiting to fly

And since I have time, there will be a part 3 to this update!

I knew we had to do it at some point because my mom loves it, so we headed over to the Hall of Presidents

Disney2010092.jpg

That's the last picture I have before our dinner. I know what that means. DIS MEET!!!!

We went to the Haunted Mansion because the line was short at this point and I got a text from Meg saying that they were heading in that direction too, so I asked her if they wanted to ride with us :) I rode with Meg and it was sooo fun! And I can now vouch for the fact that she jumps when the heads pop up  When we got off we stood near the exit and talked for a few minutes and I gave her a lime green mickey head! I had been texting Meg while I was at Home Depot a few days before I left while I was getting one for myself and she said she forgot hers so I picked one up for her. After a few minutes we split up so my mom and I could head to Liberty Tree Tavern for our ADR! We knew we'd be meeting up for Animal Kingdom EMH the next night

We had a 7:50 reservation but we got there early and got seated at 7:30 :) We had a little two person table near a window. We would've been able to see Spectro if it was going by but it wasn't until later. We actually got to see a little bit of Wishes from the window :goodvibes

I was very proud of myself for remembering to take food pictures. My mom started eating her salad and I stopped her and said "WAIT!!!! I need pictures for my trip report!!!!!!" She made this face

:rotfl:

Disney2010093.jpg

Those rolls are soooooo good. I have to remind myself not to eat too many of them because the dinner is so big

Yummy :cloud9:

Disney2010094.jpg

My mom said she was full and had no room for dessert...but she changed her mind when she remembered that it was apple crisp :lmao:

Disney2010095.jpg

The meal was incredible. LTT has been excellent every time we've been!

It was only 9:00 when we finished dinner but we were both completely exhausted at this point so we decided to head back to our home away from home. But first I had to stop and get a stuffed animal for my cousin(Zero from Nightmare Before Christmas!) I found out when I gave it to her that her brother had gotten her the exact same thing when he went in October  But she said she like having two because they were given to her by differrent people. Plus there wasn't much I could do about it back in Rhode Island

Then we walked down Main Street and headed for the bus. I think this was when I got hit by a little kid with a toy sword

I'll stop here for now. Next update I'll have pictures of WL that I took when we got back that night. Then our 1900 Park Fare breakfast! :dance3:

I just found your report today and I love all your pictures.

Thank you! Welcome to the TR! :goodvibes

Today is a very hot day in Rhode Island. It's 96 degrees :scared1: It almost never gets that hot here and it's only May! I walk home from school every day(about 1 mile) and today I thought I was gonna pass out! It's so hot! The pavement was burning my feet through my shoes! I came home and immediately took a cold shower. It felt sooo good :) I'm sitting at my desk with a fan on right next to me. Now I'm gonna go catch up on a few other TR's! Tomorrow's a half day at school(I get to go home at 10:45!) so I should have time to do another update :thumbsup2

Thanks for letting be in Magic Kingdom for a while this afternoon. I know it is hotter than a firecracker down there right now, though! I know the kids who are there right now are enjoying the water spraying objects in Adventureland.

We enjoyed our Liberty Tree meal the day before Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. It was good, and the apple crisp was delicious, but I could only handle a bite or two after the big dinner.

Great updates Christine!!! I loved all of the pictures of MK!

The food at LTT looked delicious...its making me hungry & also making me wish I would have made an ADR for LTT!!! lol

Somehow I've never been on Aladdin's carpets :confused3...but I always love seeing people's pictures from up in the air! I'll have to put it on our "must do's" for this trip.

Can't wait to read more!!! :goodvibes

Yup. I'm a wimp. And when the cars turned sideways, my mom was disappointed to find out that it was you, not me, sitting closest to her in her and Kailyn's buggy, so she didn't have the chance to reach over and grab my arm and hear me scream. :rotfl2:

Isn't is bizarre to think that we would never have gotten our next night at AK if my flight hadn't gotten messed up?! That was one of the funnest nights I've ever had in the World!

It was super hot here earlier in the week, too, both Tuesday and Wednesday. I actually didn't terribly mind working because it was TOO hot and humid for me. I'm strange, so I don't really like the super hot days, but I love the warm nights. Just a weird preference. ;)

You're welcome! Today when I update you get to be in the Wilderness Lodge and then the Grand Floridian :cloud9:

The food there is always good! Apple crisp is my mom's favorite so she always makes sure to save room for it :)

I could definitely eat a LTT meal right now :thumbsup2

I've only been on it twice because the line is usually so long but it's fun :)

You should've seen how much of a wimp I was when I was 6! I was terrified of like half the rides the first time I went on them but I loved them after :rotfl: Strangely that same trip I walked right on to Rock & Rollercoaster without any fear at all :confused3 :lmao: I probably would've gone on Tower of Terror if I had been tall enough. But after that trip it took me 9 years to get on it :rotfl2:

I know! Who knew that a flight cancellation could actually help? That was such a fun night!

I don't mind the heat as much if it's not humid. It's the humidity that really bothers me :headache: I like cooler nights because I have trouble sleeping if it's too hot.
