Two Thumbs Up For Alamo With QuickSilver

I created a QuickSilver account weeks before our New Year's Day flight and all went super-smooth. In addition to the lowest rate for an on-site rental I could find, QuickSilver allowed me to go straight to the booth in the MCO garage and in 5 mins. I was taking my pick of comact cars as I got a free upgrade from the economy car I reserved. QuickSilver has all one's preferences pre-entered so I didn't have to go down the list of extras I didn't want, no hard sell on the insurance, etc. The return took, literally, less than a minute.

That said, the woman gettting the car next to mine said she was in the 'standby' line in the main terminal for an hour. I'd use Alamo again in a minute, but not without QS.

Thanks for the review. I just signed up for Quicksilver through Alamo and I have a question.... Do you go to the booth in the garage instead of the counter, then pick out your car? Thanks for the info!

I just signed up for it on Alamo's website. I first signed up for the business benefits program and from there they sent me to a link to sign up for Quicksilver for free.

There was a sign saying QuickSilver next to the Looooong line of peons waiting for sevice by a single agent and I caught his attention and asked if this was the place to be. He directed me to go to the booth in the garage where, in less than 5 mins., I was choosing my car. Next time I'll call the MCO desk directly just before getting there to see if this is still the drill. BTW, this is for business and I have none, I made one up, using my domain name as the business name, my cell phone as the business number and the domain e-mail as my business e-mail. Don't let reality stop you from using this.

Back in May 04 I took the family to WDW and used Alamo for our minivan.

From the baggage area at MCO, go across the street to the "rental car/parking garage" area and find the Alamo booth. It is physically in the garage and not in the airport terminal building. Show them your ID, quicksilver id and/or reservation number and they will confirm the info and send you off to your vehcile.

I joined quicksilver for my own personal use with no problem. Also if I didn't do that, I would've had a 2 hour wait to get a minivan that wouldn't have been there....I know since I took the last one.

How long does it take to process the application to enroll in this program and can I use it on my existing reservation? I arrive in FL on 2/11, do I have time to process??

Yes, you have time and what I did with my ressie is cancel what I had and made a new one using the QS account number I was given. I don't think I had to do that, I just did it to eliminate the possibility of human error. You'll get a confirmation e-mail almost immediately with an account number on it and a cardboard QS card in the mail not mush later. I still haven't received a plastic card.
