Two tables = 1 confirmation number?

I'm a little confused. I just got off the phone with dining and the lady on the phone was trying to seat our family of 5 at two tables because nothing was available. I told her no thanks, we wanted to be together. She said that since they were on one confirmation number they would be next to each other. Anyone hear this before? I didn't book anything because I just found it hard to believe. I'm sure my teenagers would like to be away from us, but my DH and I do like to eat with them! Thoughts?

That happens all the time.

Disney will reserve specific tables, not specific parties. So, your party of five would have to have a table for six under normal circumstances. If that particular restaurant didn't have any tables for six available for the time you wanted, they could have one table for four and one table for two available. So, two tables, one party.

Disney hardly ever guarantees anything so you will be told that the tables are not guaranteed to be close together. But don't worry about it.

Call back and get your reservation and have a great trip.

Disney will not guarantee that the tables will be next to each other, but when you check in at the podium, just remind them that since they are your kids, you would like to be together. You may have to wait a few extra minutes, but they should be able to get side-by-side tables for you. :)

I had the same thing happen to me when I booked an ADR for CRT for my family of 5. I was told that I really shouldn't worry. Most times, they can even put you at the same table if you are willing to wait a little longer when you show up at the podium. If they still can't they always manage to put you at table near each other. I think they go out of their way to do this. That's what i was told by other families who had the same situation. Im sure it will all be ok. :thumbsup2

This happened to us on 3 ADR's on our last trip. In every case, we actually got seated at the same table. No guarantees that will happen every time, but they do their best to keep parties together. Go ahead and book that sucker!! :thumbsup2
