I am curious if anyone has considerd this or done it, we have 3 boys ages 12,11 and 8, to save points I am considering reserving 2 studious instead of a 2BR, my question is since we are a family would a request to have rooms next to each other be granted, or would we have to wait until check-in to see if it is possible, I think it would be great if the boys could have there own room, but only if right next to ours!!!! Just curious if others have given this a try and how it would work at check-in. Just trying to save points instead of buying more!!!!

You can request but there's no guarantee the rooms will be that close. I'd go with the 2 BR for that situation, the points are not that much more.

There are no location guarantees and I am not sure MS would even let you book it, I think there has to be at least 1 person over 18 per room.

The other thing, when we go as more than a couple, we tend to have more snacks/meals in the room. 1 or 2 people grabbing breakfast out on our non-character meal days is not a big difference to the budget but a party of 5 having something as simple as muffins and coffee out vs. in could be a $30 difference. That's why we like at least 1 BR for the kitchen.

I wouldn't do it. Even if the rooms are "near" each other, they won't be connected. If you got a 2 BR, wouldn't your boys still have their own room?? With the 2 studios, you're also giving up a living room to hang out in, the kitchen, the jacuzzi tub in the MB, the king sized bed, and the washer and dryer. Just not worth it in my opinion.

While we did consider this for a while when we went last year, our sons are older, 20 and 23. Also, we gave up on the idea for the reasons mentioned-especially the washer and dryer, and having a nice big living room to hang out in. And three TVs instead of 2 (1 per studio). In our family, that's a necessity. One son only watches Jazz (BET?) at WDW, I only watch the "Tip for the day" and assorted WDW channels, and DH only watches sports. Splurge-get the 2 BR!
