I was thinking of booking a verandah room for DH and myself and an inside cat 11 room, directly across, for the kids. They will be 13 &15 when we sail. Anyone do this and how did it work out? Also, I am assuming these rooms are directly across the hall?

We had a veranda and an inside cabin......6582 and 6583
Hubby and I slept in the veranda with our 4,6 and 8 year old and my thirteen year old slept in the inside cabin.......of course our reservations reflected three of us in each cabin, we had plenty of room in our veranda room to accomodate our family..........well, most nights, hubby ended up on the single bed and the kids and I slept in the queen bed........still had plenty of time for romance though with kids in their clubs! LOL

I have done this a couple of times with my family on DCL.

The rooms I had were not directly across, but even 3 or 4 rooms apart, still puts them extremely close together. When you book, just work to get the locations that work best for you. I did this on deck 6 both midship and aft.

You will need to just book one adult and one teen in each room, but the room you sleep in at night will not matter to the cruise staff. You can request duplicate keys once on board ship at Guest Services. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the quick responses! You guys are so great about that! :teeth: I think that's what I will try for then. Now if I could only decide on where? My brain hurts from thinking about all this!

We also cruised last summer with that arrangement. My DW and I took the veranda and my 3 kids ages 15, 19 and 21 took a cat 11 directly across th hall from us. Since my DS was already 21, we were able to book it in his name. They were abel to come and go as they pleased and we were able to have plenty of quality alone time. It was like having the best of both worlds - travelling alone with kids :)

We have this booked as well.We are in a cat. 8 with a cat. 11 across the hall on deck 5. Makes sense to me and saved a lot of $$$ from the cat. 4.
