I need some assistance with this whole process. We are checking into the BW then a few days later we have a ressie at the WL. I heard that Disney will take care of moving your baggage from one resort to another, but how does this work.
I was hoping that we could wake up at the BW, go to the MK, then when we return we would go to the WL.
Does anyone have any input on this matter? How it works, what I need to do?

Thanks!

This past July, we did our first "split" stay - and it worked out great!!! We stayed three nights at Pop Century - which we LOVED - it really is a great hotel!!! Then we moved over to Wilderness Lodge! What a wonderful hotel!!!

The night before our move, I called Luggage Assistance and told them we'd be moving to WL. They asked how many bags I wanted to move, and what time we were leaving our room. I was told to leave the bags in the room, and they'd be waiting for us at WL.

We left that morning around 9:00 and headed over to Typhoon Lagoon! That afternoon, around 3:00 PM, we went to WL to checkin. Our bags were already at WL, and they were brought up within minutes of us arriving in our room!

It really was very easy!! And we got to try two more Disney hotels!! Have a great trip!!!

That is how it would work from Pop, but from BW it will be a little different. You won't be able to leave your bags in your room to be picked up, but bell services will get them the morning before you leave for MK. Ask at check-in exactly what to do or call the evening before check-out and ask. It's not a hard process and I like splitting my stay!

Destination Disney,

Please post your expirience when you return. We are doing the same thing (BWI to WL) in January, and I am curious as to the process as well.

Are you worried that going from BWI to WL will feel like a downgrade? I am a little, but we are meeting friends at WL so couldn't do it the other way. I've never stayed at either before, so I'm really excited.

Have a great trip.

These two resorts are a first for me.
We rented DVC points to stay in a one bedroom at the BWI for the majority of our stay, then we extended our stay and have a woodland view at the WL. I am not so much worried about a down grade. I have been to both of the resorts to visit and fell in love with them both. We leave on Monday the 25th to head up there.
(We live here in Florida, and are leaving from the Tampa area, so we should be there in 1 1/2 hrs.) I am soooooo excited!

I will definatly give you a full report. Although I have been to WDW a million times, this trip is a "1st" trip as far as trying new things. (My husband thinks I'm nuts!)

1st time renting DVC points
1st time staying at the BW
1st time staying at WL
1st time doing a "split" stay
1st time to the food a wine festival

I'm sure I'll have a lot to talk about, hopefully it will all be positive!

Stay tuned!
Jaime
