Two Reservations

Can you have a DVC reservation and still make another non DVC resort reservation where there will be some overlap of days? We are DVC members but would like to book a room for my mother and aunt to join us for some of the time we are in Florida. Can I make the resort reservation in my name ( I'm paying) or does it have to be in one of their names. Thank you!

I don't believe there's any problems holding 2 reservations like that. I know I've read on here that a bunch of people have done that.
