Two reservations, same resort?

So, the thing that jumps out is that so far all the actual data points are that folks have not had to move. And all the pitfalls mentioned are issues that just don't apply to us. (Longest check-in wait I've ever stood in over 20+ years was about four minutes, as there just aren't many folks checking in at 0530 when we generally arrive, and when I would probably do the re-check-in.)

I'm fairly sure you can't check in for the new day until 6 am. So don't get to the front desk too early!!

Data.
It has been gradually trickling in.

this is so silly. it sounds like you have yourself convinced it will work out the way you want and you seem to shoot down anything that does not support that. i hope you aren't basing this decision on about 20 posts on a message board. good luck. I have never had to move either and i couldn't count the no. of trips we have taken. however there is no way i would bother for $20. if you really think $20 is worth the hassle then again....good luck.

you are going to get many responses from those that have not had to move and some who have. your chance of having to move is not zero and no matter how many people on the disboards have not had to move you have the same small chance of having to do so. you are taking a very short trip, do the rest of the people going want to risk it?

We have done this 3 times. Twice we were able to stay in the same room and once we had to move.

Data? Really? Are you considering time of year, resort, day of week, special events? All the "data" you are collecting is useless without considering all of the variables and then it is useless because there are too many. :confused3

We may have to do a Split Stay/Same Resort for our September/October trip. It looks like dining may be extended but doesn't include our first night. I hope it goes seamlessly.....last year we had to move rooms (not for a Split Stay issue) and we went to our morning MGM/HS breakfast and then had to come back to the resort to move things to our room (my husband gets stressed if Bell Services does it before we check the room for bed bugs). It kind of ruined the whole flow of our day :( so I hope we don't have to move rooms this year.

The difference isn't $20 though, it's thousands in our situation.
