Two resale contracts ... question???

I have one VWL contract that I bought from TTS with a June use year. I'm looking at purchasing a second TTS contract with a June use year ... probably at BWV or BCV. I know I don't have to buy a June use year with a resale, I just want to in order to keep it simple.

My question is: Do all of my resale points combine at the 7 month mark? Can I use, for example, 7 points from one contract and 7 points from the other contract to book one night? Or would all 14 points have to come from one contract? Would it work the same way if both contracts were at the same resort?

Unless you get Disney to agree to giving you the same contract number for the second purchase, you have two separate contracts. You would have to transfer from one to the other to be able to use 7 points from one and 7 points from the other for a single night. You could only transfer in or out from each once a year. So if you transferred the 7 points for one night, you'd be done transferring for the rest of the year.

Your second contract must be an add-on in order to combine a few points from one with a few points from the other for a single night. It won't be automatically unless you request it. And Disney has to agree.

Even with different UY's? I've only been transferring once per year if necessary. Hmmm.....if so, now this would change alot of things for me!

Oh, yes, they are. If you have two separate contracts (first five numbers are different, not just the last ones after the decimal), you will use your once a year transfer to transfer between them. I just did this again for the second or third time. And that is what MS told me.

If they are add-ons, you can't transfer from one to the other.

Well here we go again... different info from different people at MS.

I had an Adviser and a Team Lead transfer points from one of our April contracts to one of our October contracts. They both told me that transfers between contracts under the same owner are not limited to once per year.

If one buys the same UY AND has the exact same names (all) then DVC will LIKELY add it to your master contract. To ensure this I'd put it in the contract and make sure it goes in with the ROFR including your member number and master contract #. I'd alert them again when the copy of the deed is sent to them. It is their goal to link them as one master but if they don't, they won't fix it later is my understanding.

As for the one per year transfer for a single owner of multiple SEPARATE contracts such as when you have different UY, you will not get a consistent answer. The technical answer is the same rules apply however, DVC will generally give you some latitude on a CASE BY CASE basis if it makes sense. This is esp true to combine points for that last night and for things where the points have to be in one account such as a DC or DCL reservation. And it will depend on who you talk to so one person will tell you no and you can call back and the next person will do what you need with no problem. Don't waste your time trying to get THE REAL ANSWER as there isn't one and even if there is today, it could change tomorrow on their whim.
