Hi! I am doing two contracts -both resale, different resorts, with two different brokers... same name (deed)... do you know if Disney would put them under one single membership ID? Is there any advantage to have two ID’s? Thanks!!

As long as they are the same UY, they should be, Just make sure that each contract includes that information as you go through the process,

Since you are not yet a member, you don’t have a membership ID to add, but I am sure there is a contract number for each that could be,

If they are different UYs, then they will be two memberships.

Thanks! If i have two IDs (different UY and different home resorts).. what happens at the 7months window? Can i still use both points for a larger trip? thanks in advance

Two memberships are like two different owners, In order to use points at 7 months together, you have to transfer points from one to the other. That means you can’t use those online.

Best way to do it is to book some nights on one membership and some on the other.

I have 3 UYs and I don’t do the transfer option. I just book vacations on each...although I have a good deal in points in each to that allows it,

Mmm oki.. one more thing that I wish I have understood better before buying jajaja.. will enjoy it though.. thanks for the answer!

Couple options:
  • Multiple trips yearly? Then alternate which contract you use.
  • You can bank or borrow your points for each trip and alternative every other year between the contracts
  • Transfer all points to the same contract each year. After you book the start of your contract then call Disney to use the transfer points to get the full length of your stay booked (note you can't see transfer points online so it's a good idea to keep a spread sheet to keep track)

Hello, we have not purchased yet, but have the same question. I am really having a hard time wrapping my head around all of this as we zero knowledge of DVC. SO, you can have two or more contracts and as long as they have the same use year they can be under the same membership, is that correct? What if they are at two different resorts, but have the same use year? OR, do they have to be at the same resort and have the same use year to go under the same membership. And, lastly, if you have two contracts at two different resorts, do you get the 11 month booking window for each. I hope this question even makes sense.

In order for 2 ( or more) contracts to be under the same membership they need to be the same UY and be titled the same. They can be the same home resort or different ones.
You get the 11 month booking advantage for each different resort you own however, you only get the 11 month advantage for use with only the points from that contract. For example if you own 100 points at poly and 100 points at OKW when the 11month booking window opens you can only use the poly points at poly and you can only use the OKW points at OKW. You cannot use the OKW points to book a stay at Poly at the 11 month mark.
So if you have 2 or more contracts in the same membership (because all the contacts are same UY and titled the same) you can easily pool all points together at the 7 month mark but having multiple home resorts in the same membership does not get you around the 11 month booking rule.

Hope this helps.

But be aware right now that you cannot borrow more than 50% of the points from next UY. Not sure when that will end.

Ya and that could be an issue right at the booking window for hard to get rooms/locations. Since you have to do two separate bookings using different logins and they have different booking windows.

So you dont loose your whole trip, I would have two different browsers open, each one logged into the membership and ready to do the date/resort/room search. Once the online booking opens, do a search in the first browser, open the drop down for the room type found that you want and click the blue continue if its available. This will hold the room for you while you have time to fill out the reservation information. Dont fill it out yet, then in the other browser do the search and click continue as well thus holding the room. Go back to other browser and fill out the reservation info as quickly as possible and confirm reservation then go to other browser with the remaining days of your trip and do the same. This should help get the whole trip as long as its available with hard to reserve times/rooms.

When you book on different memberships for a single trip, each would have its own booking window.

Say you want to book Aug 1 to 8, but have two memberships and you don’t want to transfer, You have to book the first nights one one, and then wait to the 11 month window to book the rest,

You can’t book all 7 nights at once, The method you mention may be helpful if you are trying to get two rooms for the same dates.

Thanks to everyone for the responses! That helps me me understand... This is much more complicated than I thought lol. So if we want 300 points. it sounds like it would be much easier to stick to the same resort and Use year? Thanks again!

Ya, forgot about the different UY booking window issue. I edited my response.

That's what I did. I can barely keep up with it having it all together. As complex as this sounds, it gets exponentially worse when you have to alter travel plans later, trying to remember which points were banked, borrowed, etc. Having that under multiple memberships or properties gives me anxiety. :o Unless you really know you want to stay at multiple difficult-to-book properties on a regular basis, buying at one property in the same UY makes the most sense, at least IMHO.

Yes it can be very complicated, I would try to stick with the same UY if possible.
