Two quick transportation questions for trip this week!

HI! I have two quick questions:

1. We have a reservation Wed Jan 18 at Chef Mickey's at 7:45pm. We are going to be at MK that whole day beforehand. It closes at 8pm. I heard there were some new changes to the monorails closing and all after parks closed. We were planning on riding the bus to MK, monorail to CR for dinner and then what I needed to know is how do we get back to ASMovies where we will be staying? Is there a bus from the CR to ASMovies? Or will we take the monorail back to MK and will the bus take us from there? Or should we drive our van to CR that morning and leave it there and then monorail back and forth and drive back to ASMovies ourselves? Which would be the most efficient way to do this?

2. We will also be there this weekend for marathon weekend. We will be at MK Friday, Epcot Sat and DHS Sunday. What should we do as far as avoiding marathon traffic? Would bus be the best route? Or driving our van? What parks will be affected by the runs? Any advice so we don't run late getting to rope drop these days would be appreciated. Obviously we will be leaving early but what is the quickest way to get from ASMovies to the parks on these run days?

1) It's a short walk from MK to the contemporary. No bus from resort to resort. You can take a bus to DTD and catch a bus back to all stars from there, or hire a taxi.

2) bus will be your best bet for avoiding race traffic. They close roads, and buses can sometimes be the only traffic allowed.

I am not paying for a taxi when I can bring my own car. Can I park at Contemporary if I have reservations that day for a meal at Chef Mickey's? That might be easiest. We could park there that morning, go to MK via monorails by switching at TTC and then come back to CR and eat and our van would be there. Is there anything that wouldn't allow me to do this?

Also, anyone else have any advice?

Technically, the resort spots are only available for a certain number of hours for non-resort guests. However, you can valet it for the whole day.

In addition, the easiest way to get from the CR to MK is by foot. The Resort Monorail is the 2nd easiest. There is no need to transfer at the Ticket and Transportation Center. The Resort Monorail goes MK>CR>TTC>Poly>GF>MK.

If you have a car with you, why bother at all with your original plan to bus/monorail to dinner?

Can you park at the CR and then leave it there for the day? Probably. But, be aware, at busy times of year, Disney prevents this. There may be signage up stating that parking at this resort, for park access, is not permitted. Yes, you have a meal booked there, but that doesn't get you parking for the day.
I would plan on driving to the CR, telling them that you have an ADR there and see what they tell you.
Worst case scenario? Just park at the TTC, take the monorail over to MK for the day, walk over to the CR for dinner. If there is no monorail up and running when you're done, there will most likely be a bus from the MK to the TTC, or from the CR to the TTC.

As far as marathon traffic, I would use the buses. Much easier than driving, just in case.

What does Valet parking cost?? I think we will drive and try to get in the CR's lot based on a ressie. If they tell us know, that is fine. We will just have to figure out something else. I just don't want to get stuck at CR and not be able to get back to ASMovies. Sounds like they will have buses going from CR to TTC so if we can't park at CR then we can park at TTC and bus from CR to TTC even if monorail isn't working that late.

For the person who asked why we don't just drive if we have our van...we prefer NOT to drive...it's alot easier to use the bus than park and unload and get on a tram and so on. I just need to know when we leave that morning whether our van is needed or if the bus is how we will be getting to the parks.

Valet is $15/day (+ tip) I believe.
